I have just changed my wife's car and we were looking originally for a C3 diesel.
I saw a 2 year old corsa SXI diesel and we got that and I can recommend it for all round economy.
£35 per year to tax and MPG range from 52 to 76 miles to the gallon.0 -
Toyota Yaris auto.
Unless you are a driving instructor a small diesel won't save you much money and small auto diesels are very rare.0 -
Try https://www.honestjohn.co.uk or parkers etc as they have reviews on each car which are very helpful pointing out any good points and more importantly bad points0

I have an Aygo, would recommend it all round.
(except for the small boot)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

You could also look at the other versions of the Aygo, Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107. All three are £35 tax, 60ish to gallon and cheap insurance. Agreed miniscule boot but plenty of leg room back and front, very nippy as well.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I've got a Fiat Panda, we bought it second hand for about £4k. I really love it, it's automatic, so easy to park and manoeuvre, enough leg room (wouldn't go so far as to say ample lol) in the front and back, and enough boot space for a supermarket shop.
And my car loving husband has now switched to using my little panda rather than his big car, as the petrol costs are so much lower. Tax is £120.0 -
aygo or yaris0

Aygo etc tax 2010 is £20.00,I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
