    Hello everyone!

Will post the recipe for the Bran & Apple Muffins a little bit later. But before I do, does anybody know if it's OK to copy a recipe out word for word from a book? I'll of course be clear about where the recipe is from.

Am just about to go to college. I haven't done my homework. Well, I have done lots of reading (do that in bed, often in the middle of the night when I can't sleep) but didn't make any notes and my memory isn't exactly good. Gotta go and face the music I think.

BTW I passed my two exams from January, was v.v.chuffed with my results. Holstar, any news on yours?

    Bye!

Hey SnowyOwl - I make the apple bran muffins too & they're much improved by splitting in 2 & spreading with sugar free jam. Allowed on the GI diet & much yummier than it sounds. I buy St Dalfour, my favourite is Blueberry but they're all nice although a bit expensive.
By the way, last weekend I made the over the top pear muffins & I think they're nicer & BIGGER too. I have one with a cup of tea as a snack when I get in from work.

Nope. That would risk infringing copyright. There's a note about this in the orange bar at the top of every page.

As far as I know an ingredients list cannot be copyrighted but a cooking method can.

So please write the method in your own words and by all means include any tips you've learned from making it yourself; and yes, it's always a good idea to quote the author and title to give the proper credit.

    Evening all

Helloooooooooo to all the newbies! :hello:

johanne - the Telephone Preference Service is really worthwhile. We're signed up to it, as is my grandpa - not that we told him. He was getting similar calls to you, and at the age of 90 he doesn't particularly need it!

ms_london - it sounds like you're doing a cracking job of saving up!

Bargain_rzl - you're definitely not fat! You're just as slender as I am.

My day wasn't too bad. My two "problem" children were out of the classroom, so it was quite relaxing! They have just had to hand in projects on Victorian toys - and actually make one. I've had a couple of cracking ones handed in - a real amount of effort has gone into some of them. We're going to have a show and tell tomorrow afternoon where they're each going to show the rest of the class their project. It also means that as they go along, I will be able to mark them :D

I went to Morrisons with two other teachers for a cup of coffee. We had a good natter about stuff, after which I attacked the wine aisle. Very naughty :D. I got caught by the Teaching Assistant from my class though! She's been on a diet and lost 5stone in total and next week she's going to be in a magazine telling the world (the UK!) about her weight loss. However, she didn't tell me off for the wine because she'd got some too.

OH will be cooking supper tonight. It's his speciality of sausages, eggs and beans. Mmmmmmm. It seems to be the one meal that I let him cook.

WM on and I've got another load to go in when that one is done.

OH is back now, so I'd better go and beg to be fed. :)

Bit annoyed this evening. Our Sky cancellation has come into effect today. We were under the impression that we would get all the freeview channels including E4 and More4.It seems though, that we don't get Freeview in our area so no E4 and more4

Good job channel4 are showing new series of ER only a few days after E4.But what happens when my fave programme ever - The West Wing comes on More4?Will not see it _pale_

Mind you the last series was out on DVD before it aired on More4,so maybe that'll happen again.

It's truly amazing how many cr*p channels we still get.

Anyway had a lovely OS meal of leftovers. Was going to do baked spuds, but realised there was leftover mash.So made cheese, onion and potato pie with it.Was yum ;)

Bargain Rzl -wish I was as slim as you(ate whole bag of Thornton's mint truffles for breakfast/lunch :o )

    Evening everyone.

Not a good last couple of days. Started being really sick late on Monday night and this continued all through the night. Yesterday couldn't lift my head off the pillow and ached all over all day. Today felt a bit better and went back to work but started feeling ill again. Wanted to come home but was told I couldn't!! Still don't feel 100% but certainly an improvement.

Wasn't up to cooking tonight and was the only thing I fancied so went to the chippy. Due to hubby being out of work we havn't had any "treats" for what seems like a lifetime. Although I felt guilty it was really tasty!

Just a quick post today as I still feel really tired so think I might just cosy up in bed and relax.

Cheers everybody for reassuring me about that photo! I know I've got a good figure and I'm normally really happy with it, but it was the beer gut that made me feel insecure!!

Not a great pic though is it. Camera flash is not only bouncing off my glasses - I'd meant to wear my contact lenses but discovered I'd forgotten to take one of them to work with me that day  - but it's even made my dress go see-through by bouncing off the embroidery on my white bra :rotfl: Plus, thanks to my wonderful boss making me finish something off when the rest of the office had all left for the party, I hadn't had time to put any makeup on (big mistake when you're as pale as I am) or put my hair up...

I don't normally get this self conscious about photos!

    Next time I will be:
    (a) not wearing black with no make-up
    (b) wearing underwear that is the same colour as the outfit (I thought it was only dark under white that showed!)
    (c) wearing industrial strength Bridget Jones style tummy control pants
    (d) not posing for a photo with somebody better looking than me :D:D

Right, I've just read through all of the above and decided it's about time I stopped being so insecure and vain. So that's quite enough about me.

Oh BTW the dress was a total bargain - £12.99 from H&M about 4 years ago :D

  • black dresses / clothing going seethrough is a big problem when camera flashes are about. you quite often see celebs in mag showing more than they thought due to a camera flash. be thankful you had underwear on or it could have been worse lol.

beware of uv lights in clubs/ pubs as they make white underwear glow through clothes even black outfits.

i didn't even notice the bra thing until you mentioned it. lovely photo anyway.
