Hi everyone.
Had a long walk again this morning and breakfast at mums. (very moneysaving!!)
Tow bar arrived at 7.10 this morning so woke to the sound of Poppy the dog barking her head off. Good price. :j Hope that it is all there and is as it should be. Ordered it of one of the ebay shops. It was £40 cheaper than most others so a good saving.
CC bill arrived so I am going to try and pay it off before the 0% ends so I do not have to balance transfer. Does anyone know if it is better for my credit score to buy something with it before I cancel it? Also, am I better cancelling catalogues etc too or leaving them for "incase"?
Hope everyone has a good day. :hello:
BeccaThe best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0 -

Roll on 5:30!! I just want to go home, I really feel as though I need a day off (preferably when my flatmates are at work) - I want some time to myself!!!! ArrghhhhhH!!
Been pretty bad today on my spending, just so hungry.!! Still not feeling 100% so want to have a day off to recoup & rest and get lots of fruit & veg into my system!! Unless I take tomorrow or Friday as a days leave then I'll just have to wait for the weekend (its probably too short notice anyway!!), but id rather do that than take it as sick!!
My head is whizzing around with all the things I need to do before I go travelling, and most of them are things that can be done in the last few months, not 6 months before :0) ((I just like being organised!!))
I have £2256.77 in my travel fund so far, but have already paid for flight/visa/backpack, and will need to get insurance & a few more bits - I dont think I'll be able to save £10,000 though - it seems like too much effort, and it was tough enough paying off my debt, not sure I can cope with that again!!
Blimey, sorry to moan - just having a bad week!! xx0 -
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all OK.
PP - Good news about your shower! I don't often do posts to specific people, but you always seem so positive even though you have a lot on your plate. I always read posts on here and some of them put my itsy-bitsy problems in perspective!
Have been off work this afternoon taking DS to a hospital appointment. Glad to report all fit & well. Both going to dentist at 4.30. We are NHS patients but had a letter recently to say the practice will be all-private from 1st April. As there are no NHS dentists within about 50 miles, I will have to grin and bear it. I will have to pay £38 a year for the privilege of paying for all my treatment! I haven't had anything done for years but you can bet your bottom dollar I will need loads of dental work doing next year.
Have been making more of an effort to be more OS recently. I had been getting lazy and buying lunches at work but it is just too expensive!
I need to have another go with my BM as my loaves have been a bit heavy recently. I just bought some more yeast so I'll see if the last lot was past its best.
Will probably make spag bol for tea tonight and I have two soups to make as well (minestrone and leek & potato).
Must dash now as I have three book swaps to post.
Have a good evening everyone.

Took the dog to Yarmouth for the day and managed not to spend any money. Good tip - if you want to go out for the day but not spend much money take a dog. You can't go in shops or cafes.
I made a pot roast last night and there is some pork left so I have got to think of something to make with it for dinner tonight.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
((hugs)) to Bargain Rzl (aka Grumpy Pants):p lol. Hope you feel better soon. I do grumpy to most days lately:rolleyes: I wear my grumpyness like and old anorak.
PP Sorry things are so bad at the mo. Thinking of ya. The walk in shower is good news tho.
TM Don't go hogging those moonboots to ya self. I'm sure I could cram them on if I tried couldn't I Dandini? lol
Off to cook dinner.
Have a good evening

Gee, but I'm tired!!
There must be something in the water, because it seems as though lots of us are having a tired day, today.
PP - so sorry to hear you've now got problems with the other leg, but the walk-in shower sounds great. I wish I'd got one of those .. stepping in and out of the bath frightens the pants off of me, sometimes. Well, it would do if I had pants ON at the time ... hmmn, think I'll stop there. ~chuckle~
After hearing good reports from you folk about TK Maxx, we ventured out to ours and came back with a huge lasagne dish for £2.99. DH was very upset that they had a pair of trainers that he'd fallen in love with, on the shelf in the wrong size for £6 and on the shelf in the right size for £12! Grrr!! We asked them to check whether the bigger size should be marked down, but apparently not.Personally, I was very upset that they had a HUGE midnight black suede leather throw for £229. I mean, it just wasn't fair to put it there for me to fall in love with .. and then render it unbuyable because of its price. ~sob~
We had a visit to Hobbycraft at the same time and I can now see where lots of the folks who sell handmade jewellery on Ebay, get lots of their components! We had a £5 voucher from when the store was delayed in opening, so were hopeful to find some bits for DH's candle making activities. Typically, the candle making section was microscopic and virtually unstocked. ~sigh~ Came out of there with a pre-cut, sew-it-yourself plushie Guinea Pig .. (doesn't everyone buy those??) .. and some empty plastic eggs in different colours (like Kinder Eggs) which we plan to fill with interesting things and leave around the house at Easter, from the Easter Bunny, for DS to find. A chocolate free version of what we normally do - low calorie is good, when the grandparents are intent on overdosing him on Chocs! ~chuckle~ We'll have fun finding little presents to go in them.
Since then, I've sorted out my Ebay accounting, got everybody up to date on the progress of their items, put the BM on for tomorrow's loaves, emptied the WM, done the first instalment of dishes (dinner dishes are waiting, now!) and the dogs are complaining of starvation, so I'd better go and attend to them.
B : Cornflakes
L : Mackerel & avocado on h/m multigrain toast
D : Smoked Mackerel salad, with Rice pud for afters.
Yeah, it was bad planning on the Mackerel front - but hey, oily fish is good for you, right?:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

Though there's not much squish value in a hug off one so THIN (grump grump envy envy) I haven't weighed as little as you since I was 21
(Forgot to include in list of reasons for being grumpy - yesterday a colleague sent me through a pic of some of us at our office Christmas party and I couldn't believe how FAT I look - even though I'm the thinnest woman in the pic! I'm the one in the middle standing next to gorgeous colleague who looks good fat (plus she has excuse of recent-ish 2 kids). Not fair. Sorry - I know I'm not that fat and it's a trivial problem compared to some on this thread, but believe me, when I saw that photo I was not happy!)
Am currently stuck in the office because there are 4 documents which need signing and I will feel a lot better if they're done before I leave today. The people who need to do the signing are all in a meeting :rolleyes:Operation Get in Shape

Spent most of the day with DD who was sick three times last night .
She managed to eat something at lunchtime and has kept it down! Yay :j
Got some pain relief spray for my leg - the bruise are starting to go a bit yellow - I feel like a colour chart!
Made cauliflower and broccoli in cheese sauce for me and DH - very nice and will do whatever Dds fancy.
Big hug to Penny Pincher and Math and anyone else having a rough day.
Penny pincher - you will love a walk in shower - it has nothing to do with being an invalid - honest. We rearranged our bathroom a few years ago so we could fit in a shower cubicle and it is one of the best things that we ever did.
DH keeps announcing loudly that he has not had a bath in years - people are edging away from him - lol - even though he has a shower every day!"This site is addictive!"

Rzl - Don't worry hon, it's just the angle of the camera!
Can't manage a long post today, so a quick hello to everyone and hope those who are fed up feel better soon - looks as if we're in for some more sunshine, and that always helps!
