Morning friends
Hester, I have started reading your blog, it has me enthralled. I also must find out about Readitswapit. I am drowning in books and I am making a resolution to stop spending a fortune on them. It must stop as DH is being made redundant and I have enough books at home to stock a decent sized library:eek:
Mudgekin for extra cash try green metropolis. I have sold a fair few books on there and have loads more listed. Havent had a sale for a while but there is no expiry date for listings. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Jackie I am so sorry to hear your news (((hugs hugs hugs)) my thoughts and prayers to you and your family
Reverbe thanks for the link. I will have a look at that. It's not so much about the making money as spending less on books and maybe being able to swap for others. I may have a look at that for some of the more eclectic books I have. I have such an incredibly wide taste in books from the laters thrillers to autobiographical to archaeology..and so much more:o0 -
Back from the dentist. Good news! he thought it best not to crown the cracked tooth, as this would weaken the whole thing, said it would be best to remove duff bits and has bonded the rest together. Less work and only £30. Will just have to see how it goes.
Still jet lagged I think. I came on here for a while earlier on, but ended up going back to sleep, dozed, keeping a careful eye on the clock!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Good morning chums ,bit of a sad one for me today Yesterday my sis-in-law phoned to say her son in law had passed away on Monday night, leaving her DD and two little girls 6 & 10.Haven't found out exactly what happened .he was only 44 and as far as I know fit and healthy. So I may be MIA for a little while over the next few weeks.
I am waiting to hear from her today, she was so upset yesterday she could hardly speak bless her.So tonight give all your nearest and dearest a hug and tell them how much you love them, as one never knows when or where bad things can happen.
Sorry this is so short, as I too am very sad at thinking of this vibrant young Dad whose life has been cut short.
God Bless all here
JackieO xx

Oh Jackie - I am so sorry, how very very sad. Thinking of you and the family *hugs*

Well not much OS going on today, actually that is an understatement..........there is no OS going on today! :rotfl: Having a bit of an I cant be bothered day!
Dinner last night was Pasta, chicken and broccoli. Was lovely.......even if I do say so myself! Dinner today will be something from the freezer I think.
Was planning on going out to do some shopping today but its very cold outside and my Arthritis is playing up something rotten (ohhhh check me out I sound like my granny!)
Hope you all have a lovely Wednesday
Linz xoxoxIts hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........

I must remember to actually marinate it this time, last time I made it was the first time I tried the recipe, and after mixing the marinade I put it in it's bowl in the fridge next to the fish :wall:

Afternoon all.
Jackie so sorry to hear your sad news. 44 is no age at all.
Moggins a big ((((HUG)))) for you; I hope you can get your life sorted out soon - well done on the job applications, though.
Bargainbird sorry to hear your OH has been made redundant. Not the best of timing. Hope he finds something soon.
((((HUGS)))) to everyone else who wants/needs one today.
Well, Mr LW has had his new crown put on his tooth. He's gone on to w*rk, so I'm assuming it was non-traumatic. He'll be late home tonight, so we have the 2nd half of yesterday's Shepherd Spy to nuke for dins.
I've nearly finished another cross-stitch light switch surround, the one for the lounge. It's taken me ages to do - don't know why, I just haven't enjoyed doing them as much as I do cross stitch pictures, and I keep putting off getting on with it.
I'm taking it steady today, as I'm very tired after Dungeons & Dragons last night. If I'm honest, one of the main reasons I go along is to see Molly Dog. She's such a sweet loving little furbaby, and always makes a great fuss of both Mr LW and myself.
Right, time to get off me bum; whatever else I don't get done today, I want to get my brown top washed. It has to be done on its own, by hand, in cold water.:eek:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi Everyone :hello:& thanks for the lovely welcome yesterday :T .
Happyroly - I was singing 'that song' to myself all last nite after reading your post yesterday - DH thought I had gone bonkers! (or even more bonkers than usual probably...) .
Meanmarie - hope the cat medication is going Ok - I'm another who hides it in tuna...my furrybaby loves tuna above all things, so it always works for us!
Jackie O - so sorry for your family's loss, at such a young age that is just too awful (HUGS).
Moggins - sorry to hear that things not going brilliantly at home for you at the mo'. I have been through a broken marriage, and it is so tough when you come to the final decision of whether to stick it out any longer. As others said yesterday, you have to put you & your kids 1st (no kids in my equation, which probably made it easier for me), I know it's easier said than done Hun. Good luck with the job apps.
Busy day for me today. Had to take DH's car to work as my brake fluid has mysteriously disappeared! I said to him a couple of days ago that my brakes felt a bit spongey - then when he drove it last nite he almost failed to stop at our junction - scary! He had a look and said the brake fluid reservoir is empty- just hope it won't cost too much to get it fixed. Our fave garage closed down a few months back, so if DH can't do it I don't know where to take it now. I know how much he loves me when he says things like "you can't drive your car, it's dangerous, you can take mine to work tomorrow and I'll walk"....bless him!
We have a support group mtg tonight at 6.30, and then some friends have 'invited themselves' around to our place to watch the England game on TV at 9.00, so I guess it may be a late nite  .......
Supper tonite is supposed to be corned beef hash according to my meal plan.....but I guess we'll just see how it goes.
Have a good day everyone!
