    Evening peeps,

i`ve just eaten a lovely spanish omlette and i`ve no room left for the rice pudding, ah well it won`t be bad for the old waistline.

I shall have a quick browse before i drag my carcass back into the kitchen to load the dw and sort out the pans. Won`t be late in bed tonight as i can feel my eyes starting to close already.

((((HUGS)))) to JackieO`s family, sorry to hear your sad news Jackie.

Have a warm evening folks and i shall see you all tomorrow.

Twink no offence but if you are oS and MS wouldnt it be better and almost as easy to make your own "ragu" sauce. I have never used these - instead I used tinned chopped tomatoes, add my own dried mixed herbs. tomato puree(sometimes), onion and crushed garlic. To me the very idea of paying £1 and more for these has always seemed nonsensical. My version takes no time at all to do.

i think that now tinned tomatoes have gone up so much ,thinking about the cooking of it and onions it 50P a jar is very MS.

    hugs to all

Well, how's this for a strange one?

Phone went about an hour ago.

"Sorry to disturb you, does Dave live here?"
Now, I'm not about to confirm or deny that fact to just anybody. "Who's calling please?" I ask in my best receptionist's voice.
"It's Stuart." (Long pause) "I'm his cousin. We emigrated to Australia when we were all small." Another long pause. "He might not remember me."

Well, Dave does remember, and comes flying to the phone, and I can't help but wonder if something terrible's happened what with all the fires, even though I know they live in Perth, which is about as close to the bushfires as London is to Beirut (literally - I'm a geek and I measured it:D)

Anyway, his cousin, who moved to Oz twenty-five years ago and who Dave hasn't seen in a decade is coming to stay with us.

    Tomorrow.

    Oh my word!
  • Evening all:hello: hope everyone has had a good day, hugs to those who need them, especially (((((JackieO and her family)))), what sad news.

Jackie-O - my heartfelt condolences. I'm thinking of you and your family.

Silvercharming - I just had an image of you walking from London to Beirut walking one of those machines we used in primary school to measure metres hehe!

Been very up and down emotionally today. My feedback day at uni wasn't fun. I got a First for one module which is really cool, but the assignment I slugged my guts out for and really cared about I got a 2.2, which really upset. Although after reading what other people are going through I feel a bit silly about that.

My stomach has calmed down, but I'm still panicky today - I have so much on! Every night for the next two weeks is used up with work or rehearsals and I still have to get half a First in half my modules this semester to get a First overall. I just want to graduate and be done with it!

I'm sorry, I feel really stupid for feeling so cr*ap, I guess life's getting to me a bit right now and I find it difficult to let my guard if I'm actually talking to someone in person.

Massive *huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugs* for anybody who needs one.

They're called trundle meters :D I used to luuuuurve them! I was a geek even back then. I asked for one for Christmas one year :o

But no, I googled it, which I believe is the favoured method of finding anything out these days!

i know how easy it is to take loved ones for granted and then suddenly to have them taken from you.

I think many of us become complacent, we assume we will wake up in the morning, we make plans to do things at some point in the future, sometimes pushing family aside to focus on building a career etc, and it is such a shame, because for most of us, without family, life is empty...yet it can all be taken away from us in but a moment.

This is very well put as I know only too well as my Dad was suddenly taken from us with no warning and no chance to tell him how much we loved him. I always tell my DH I love him, every day and txt it to him(he's had 2 heart attacks and heart surgery) I never part from my 2 teenagers on bad terms either - not always easy:rolleyes: - but it is so important as I could never forgive myself if anything happened and we were on bad terms.
    Do what you love :happyhear

JackieO, sorry to hear your sad news....hugs to all your family

DD4 decided this morning that she would take herself and DGS2(6) off to Austria skiing on Saturday...she has been before and loved it and is apparently quite good, but DGS2 doesn't even know that he is going yet...he was very curious as to why he got a new jacket, waterproof trousers, hiking boots and was very fed up by the time they were all tried on...they leave early on Saturday morning for a week....the house will seem empty but I hope to manage to catch up with all the people I haven't seen since Christmas and maybe even manage to paint the kitchen as I will have no school runs to do....man proposes and God disposes etc...

Having my hair cut in the morning, needs doing badly, going to a ex colleague's retirement party on Friday so have to look semi-respectable for that, lots of people there I haven't seen for years.

Hugs to all in need or want

    Sleep well
