Great so you've been accepted then - well done.

Remember though, they will check in depth when you return forms.... so may not be 100% in the bag just yet but 90%....

    Vanquis Procedures:

Vanquis pretty much either decline you, accept you or refer you. For a decline it means you're not on e/r or have bad debt. Acceptance will be for normal people with little or no debt and a refer is everyone else, like us lot on the sub-prime.

Then what they do is assess each app on its own merit and if they are happy to take risk they will pass your file to someone who rings you to say well done and to sell you insurance/cash advance.

If at any point between applying and this last team dealing with you, you ring for an update you will be messed about because they want their own team to ring you before deciding - it is part of their assessment procedure.

So in a nutshell, after you apply online it gets referred. In your case they asked for additional info which means you've been accepted, they would decline you otherwise.

So what happens now? They will have your documents and this will then complete their decision - its more than likely a yes but they have been known to make mistakes and decline people for no reason whatsoever.

After they have completed the application, assume it was a yes then your application is sat in a pile waiting for the salesperson to call you. If declined then you'd get a letter about 1 week after sending the documents in.

There are 100 people in the direct sales team (new business) and as a result it can take 3 weeks to deal with an application from start to end.

When you ring and they seem to 'fob you off' this is because they do not know the decision, the decision is hand written on the file and will be sat in a pile somewhere so they either guess an outcome or tell you to wait longer. If it was declined they would know this and would tell you.

Hi Guys, Please please please dont go with vanquis. I'm sure you already know but i must shout "HIGH INTEREST RATES" isnt the whole point of joing a forum like moneysavings expert is for exactly that? To Save money? If you're so desperate for a credit card get 1 or 2 store cards spend on them and repay them immediately to build or a credit file for 3 or more months then apply for a high street credit card like a barclaycard classic or Halifax classic or something like that. DONT fall into the trap of Vanquis RIP OFF HIGH APR'S YOU WILL REGRET IT.

    Cheers

This is linked to the sub-prime thread so bark somewhere else please....... we all know what we're doing and to be honest, Vanquis is a perfectly fine lender because we accept the rates they offer so it's our choice.

Thanks for your concern though :rotfl:
