If you did that the account would be in credit which is not allowed. You have to wait for statement day.0 -

They can be paid as soon as they show on an online statement, ie are credited on the account rather than the formal payment date. Most people would leave until the required date for interst free credit purposes and to show card use age but if carrying a balance then early payment will save interest.0 -

I highly advise against any cash advances at all. It shows that you can't manage on your income. The same applies to pay-day loans.
Interest is charged from the day you get it, interest rate is higher than for purchases, it's added to your balance and you pay as usual when payment is due.0 -
I got accepted for a VANQUIS credit card today with a £250 limit, the women on the phone seemed to be dodging a few of my questions, but I think it's good to always be careful.
She said you have 56 days interest free? Is this right? Also I set up a "minimum payment" but I'm guessing I should of set up a "full payment"? So I do not gain any interest? If I go for the full payment option does that mean i will pay the full balance on my statement?0 -
I believe you get 56 days interest free on purchases, if you setup full payment to be taken (or do it yourself on the website/internet banking) then as you wont carry any amounts over 56 days you wont get any interest charges,0

After around 2 years with Vanquis, and being rejected in January for a Barclaycard Rewards Card, I just got accepted for a Debenhams Mastercard, same limit as Vanquis and a better interest rate. Instant approval as well!
I plan to keep the Vanquis and move a few of my small monthly payments onto it, and use the Debenhams as the primary. Vanquis can be my back up I think having access to a Visa as well as a Mastercard credit card would be good in an emergency or if one system goes down.
Really pleased because my main barrier to credit is low income (which is highly unlikely to improve) and to get any kind of rewards card is amazing.
I do shop frequently at Debenhams and shall be cancelling my store card as I don't need both.0 -
I'm thinking of applying for a Vanquis card - any advice anyone can give me here?
I'm 24, and have next to no credit history. I've recently got on the electoral roll, so I have that, and my mobile phone. Thats everything I have, and I've only ever missed one mobile phone payment (which wasn't my fault, EE messed me about six months ago or so).
I've been declined credit on a sofa because of my limited history, and tried to get a credit card with M & S after that, to build some sort of credit history, and got decline for the same reason. This was just over a month ago, and I really want to be able to get on the credit ladder.
Is Vanquis a good shout? Am I likely to be accepted? Are there any better options?October 2014 challenge: £111.44/310

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0 -
I have a card with them, have done for the last three years.
I dread calling them because they try and sell me something over the phone, although they claim it is not PPI.
I just end the call because they already answered the questions I originally had.0
