Hey Guys
Got accepted on Monday Afternoon, and they tried to sell me the good ole "cash back" which i declined. £250 limit with 39.9 APR.
What is the standard turnaround for dispatch of the card?
from what i've heard the card takes 5-7 working days and the pin takes another 5-7 working days. I was anticipating seeing the card today or tomorrow. But i have been hawking the letter box for the post from vanquis. The only letter i got was from nationwide Booo no vanquis welcome pack.

My wife got accepted over the phone last week for a Vanquis, there is still no sign of any letter or card. She applied for the Barclay card initial as well and the card came on Monday, still waiting on the pin tho.

When I got accepted a week or so ago, after the chatter from the guy on the phone he put me through to an automated message saying "welcome" etc, and in the message it said 10-14 days to receive the card, and a further upto10 days to receive the pin!
So we have a few more days to wait! Although for me it's as a credit builder so Im not fussed when it turns up as its not for the "credit" that I want it!:jEngaged 25/12/11 :j

It varies a lot: For me it took 13 days including weekends to get both the card and PIN but a friend of mine got both within a week. I suppose 7-10 working days is about average.
The best letter to get from Vanquis is the one informing of a credit limit increase. Name and address in the left panel and "CONGRATULATIONS" in the right panel on the envelope0 -
My card arrived today! 9 days from applying so pretty good! The letter says the pin will be with me within 5 days so we will see! I'm very shocked with the limit! Considering how my credit file looks, I was expecting £150-£200 but there given me £500!
Although that is irrelevant to me as its only being used for one purchase a month and paid off in full but I thought it would be much lower than that!:jEngaged 25/12/11 :j

I have a Vanquis card - I plan to use it to put essential, predictable expenses on it and paying it off each month in full.
Does anyone know how Vanquis would respond if I paid it off in full before the statement date each month? Would I be likely to get the credit limit increased if I did that, or is the balance on the statement date the only thing that matters, so if that's zero, no increase (even if I took it close to the credit limit the week before)?
Thanks.£2013 in 2013 Member |0 -

What matters is that you are using most but not all of your credit limit and making the payments on time every month without fail. Whether you pay off the full balance or minimum payment or anywhere in between doesn't impact credit limit increases. Miss a payment or pay late and you can wave a fond farewell to the next credit limit increase.
Most statements I pay off the full balance but occasionally I'm a bit strapped for cash and then I pay half and then clear the full balance the following statement. I get my limit increases the next one being 24th. December, 2012 which will take it to £1,000.0 -
The joke is on you for putting yourself in hock to Vanquis to buy the latest iThing.
Funny how most of the iThing owners I know are up to their armpits in debt. Ha! Ha!
Anyway, for obvious reasons Vanquis prefers to quote its interest rates in monthly rather than annal terms.
A monthly interest rate of 3.99% is an ARP of 59.9%.
Anywho... i've paid in full and i have my IphoneVanquis served it's purpose.
