I was just having trouble getting my online statements then when I did there appears to be a cash advance fee for £4 on there! I haven't had a cash advance so I'll phone them later...Anyone else had this?
Is it dated around the 19th March?

Ahh right that's what it is. Lesson learnt! I only used it to verify my account by paying £2 via credit card.0 -
ugh .. was on the phone to vanquis for 40 minutes yesterday and got passed around to 8 different people and still got nowhere.
asked for a callback because at the rate of 8p a minute, yesterday's call alone cost me £3.20.
they've hit me with an over the limit charge and interest and it's pushed the minimum payment above what i can afford so i'm just trying to see if there's anything that can be done.
it's only £100 quid limit so i wouldn't like to lose it but at the moment i don't think i've got a choice0 -

if you are struggling with the minimum payment, then you aren't really doing yourself any favours with the card.0 -

i wasn't struggling with it when it was only around £10 quid. this has just completely taken me by surprise and painted me into a corner. mainly because i've had my electric bill in at the same time and with my income and outgoings as they are, i can't pay everything.
there are 3 possible ways i can rescue the situation and I fully expect that vanquis won't be prepared to entertain any of them so it's likely going to leave me no choice but to default the card.0 -
Default the electric bill, or come to some arrangement to pay that0

Default the electric bill, or come to some arrangement to pay that
i'm certainly not even going to entertain defaulting on an electric bill. but then even if i did come to an arrangement, it still wouldn't leave me with enough spare to bring the balance back down again because i'm already paying the bill in two instalments anyway.
the problem i have is that even if i could bring the card back to under the limit, it wouldn't be remotely close to being enough to prevent another minimum payment taking it back over the limit which then leads me to more charges and more interest.
One of the people i spoke to yesterday offered to reduce the over limit amount to only about a fiver and refund any charges, which would have worked for me but I can't honestly remember why she then decided to transfer the call on to someone else.0 -

How much over limit are you on the Vanquis card? And what are the charges?
I think it's inevitable you're going to lose the card. £100 is an exceptionally low limit and means your credit file must be a complete mess. I doubt Vanquis will want to keep your custom if you can't even service a £100 limit.
If I were you I'd try to get the money to pay Vanquis any way I could.
If you lose your Vanquis card it will probably be several years before you're able to get another credit card or perhaps any credit at all.
Living without a credit card or even credit is possible, but can be quite hard. And you may miss out on all sorts of things you've not thought about.0 -

can you pay your electric by credit card?
if so,pay Vanquis and then pay the elctric by CC.
short term fix but it will give breathing space0 -
When is the electricity bill due?
Sometimes we pay ours a couple of weeks late so that we can pay it with our next pay packets... Will probably do this next time one comes in as one of our housemates is starting a new job and won't have any cash for it until end of May. We got a reminder letter last time but that was it...0
