some of the posts above deal with my question earlier this week with regards to brokers 'supposed ' refund of call charges -and particularly those instigated by horizon finance.
I sent off for my refund on monday of this week-very sceptically.
On wednesday-i received a cheque for £38 back from Horizon -with a very professional letter.
frankly-it is the quickest and probably best servicee/keep promise of any company i have ever dealt with in the finance industry-so credit where credit is due.
( i am not a friend or relative-and as most suggest-was expecting this to be lost in the ether-but they did as promised in a phenominal timescale
(i trsut the cheque will clear !!)
equally remarkable-i sent letter second class recorded on monday-and for me to get a cheque on wednesday-horizon must have had my letter delived on tuesday !!0 -
Hi
I set up DD for full amount after my statement was available and it is showing on my Online bank account as set up. When I go into evanquis and click on my statement it does not show anything about "payment will be taken on such a date".
As this will be my first payment am I better off paying this months balance by Debit Card just in case the DD does not start until the next statement date ?
Sorry to be a pain I just dont want to start on the wrong foot with them
EDIT....Just paid with Debit card just to be on the safe side0 -
Despite having received "pre-selected priority invitation", I got rejected right after pressing the submit button.. They couldn't have done any checks so quickly, so it was something in my application I guess, maybe the household income as low as 14k or maybe the lack of a landline number? I provided the work's landline though but anyway, what is this obsession with landlines and phone interrogations in this country anyway? Who needs landline when I got mobile + internet.. Oh well, maybe keep it home and pay bills just so you can prove something to Vanquis-likes :wall:0

Just to follow up on a previous post on this thread about increases on the Granite Card. I got my letter at beginning of Feb, for my first increase from £200 to £1000:D.
Got my latest statement on 1st March and on 3rd March when I logged in they had applied the increase and sent me an MMS to confirm it. So after 8 months of paying in full every month I am now the proud owner of a £1000 limit:T. I won't be getting carried away though as the APR is: :eek:59.9%
Just wanted to let people know that you can get limits over £500 on Granite as I know a lot of folks (myself included) on here were questioning that earlier on the thread.
I also have to say that it feels much more reassuring that I now know I have the credit available if something major was to happen and I needed it, though it would have to be very major to get me to spend more than I could afford to repay in full at 59.9%.0 -
Does anyone know if there is a way to get the APR down?
I have seen 29% quoted around somewhere... is it just set when you join or can it change?
I've been with them for over 2 years, no late payments. In that time my limit has gone from 250 to 2500 but interest has gone UP from around 50 to 55%.
If I am such a high risk as the APR suggests, why do they want to give me so much money? :doh:0 -

like many vanquis holders, i'm 5 years clean into my 6 years in the credit dog house... still cannot get any other cards.
i know i am not in a bargaining position and i'm grateful they took a chance on me, but surely 1000% increased limit shows increased trust, so why does the other trust barometer go the other way?
when i'm clean next year i will be going for something a lot better, but would be nice if they made an effort at least. might be tempted to stick at 29%... 'better the devil you know' and all that.
does anyone have the 29% APR advertised ?0 -
My limit increase recently went up and my APR down. I think in these situations, the ball is firmly in their count, rightly or wrongly.
I have just been approved for a mainstream card, so may say ¡Adi!s!0 -
I'm a 34.9% granite with a £500 limit. Never changed.
Have a Cap 1 progress now though and only a year for a clean credit file.0 -

Credit isn't is right. It's a privatage!
Is this sentence in your sig supposed to mean something cryptic?0
