When do people find they get their limit increased or do you have to call and ask?
I have had my 3rd statement this morning. I currently have a £250 limit and i have spent it in full and paid it abck in full each month.

I had a £250 limit and did what you did for 3 months then got a raised limit of £500.
No their "computer" decided not up to the person you speak too.0 -

My account was opened 07 Jan 2011.
Got letter in mid May stating my credit limit would be increased in June (they have to provide 30 days notice).
So took 4 months from start date to receive notice of increase... and 5 months from opening date for increase to show on account.0 -
I've had my Vanquis account for about two years, started with a £250 limit at 48.9% APR, it went up to £500 and then £1,500.
I requested it be put down to £750, which it was... for like two months before it went back to £1,500. I phoned recently to report my card lost, I then noticed I all of a sudden have a "gold" account with them? Interesting...
I get my card through the post and OMG my APR has shot up to 69.9%!!
Needless to say I've cleared off my balance (was £650, making £100 repayments), and am now having to use my £200 limit Capital One card for purchases this month but at least it's only 38% APR!!!0 -

How do you find out they were increasing the limit? is it a seperate letter or a note on your statement or did it just increase one day when you logged in?
Many thanks0 -

Separate letter which usually arrives 4 months after your card was opened.
The letter will say that your credit limit will be increased after your next statement - as they have to give you 30 days notice (should you not want the increase)
I used card just like you - and mine went from £250 to £500.
Best of luck0 -
Started with £500 and 34.9% apr and no increase as yet, had it about 8 months, always paid in full.
Cap 1 however, have had for about 5 months and just got increase from £200 to £800!!!0 -
I've sent a 'test' tenner using the details from their website but my bank doesn't do FP so it'll be Monday I guess. Will let you all know how I get on..
Hmmm, day six and it still hasn't credited my account yet! I've checked many times the details, sort code, acc num, my 16 dig ref - can it take seven days?Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -
