  • I have a Vanquis card and have been trying for TWO days to get through to them on the phone.

It puts me through alright and then goes engaged and then dead.

I sent them an email explaining this and they replied saying I had to ring:confused:, so on day two and still can't get through to them.

I could not get through yesterday but just got through this afternoon. They still have not sent out a new statement according to the automated system - last one sent out 11 February

    Hi guys,

My Credit rating with Experian is the best it's been in a while. The only sticking point is the £278 default which was from August 2005. I have paid this in the last week but its not showing as settled on my Credit Expert yet, I understand it takes time to do.

What I want to know is should I wait for this to happen before I apply for the first time for a Vanquis Card, or will it not make a difference?

I have read mixed info so anything you can help me with would be great. Also I don't have a home phone line so does this mean I can't apply?

    Thanks in advance

I would wait for the default to be marked as settled. Also you can apply without a landline - just use your mobile

I think that you can apply for the vanquis card now because they will accept people with paid and unpaid defaults.

I had a vanquis card and they called me on my home phone line so i am not sure if they call moblie phones. I also think that you should try Capital one and Aqua because they are better than vanquis and have online access.

    Good luck

It has been confirmed by other FMs that Vanquis do indeed call mobiles

I think I'll wait until it is marked as paid, I've done the hard bit of paying it, a few more weeks can't hurt!

I've just applied, purely for the £20 Quidco cashback, i think i'll be declined as i've been on a DMP with CCCS for a couple of years and defaulted on my debts back then!

It is very unlikely that they will decline you. Please keep us updated on the Vanquis Start Limit / Increases thread.

    Thanks
