(I applied through the granite website though not Vanquis... although it technically is all vanquis!)

Well perhaps you can tell me what it is then.

On my initial letter, it says "your annual purchase interest rate is 30.35%" Your annual cash/cheque rate is 37.70%"

Now I know they calculate their rates funny and it's not the APR or it is the APR etc etc.. (I've seen the debates).

So what actually is it in that case?

Yeah basically what your initial letter is stating is actually your simple rate,i would phone them up and ask what is my actual interest rate not my simple rate, and i would not be surprised when they tell you its around 50% apr.
Give them a ring and get back to us with your actual apr.

    Well going by this post:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=37973274&postcount=1955

I'd say I was under the 40's for APR as that example is quoting 47% and mine says 30.35!

(it's irrelevant anyway as I have a dd set up to pay full balance!)

  • Had a text from Vanquis today :jMy limit has gone from 250 to 1000 in one leap after 5 months of having the card. I had a BR in 2007 managed to get car finance 3 months after AD refused by Vanquis on the first application but accepted second time round. Things are finaly looking like they are on the up after a long hard struggle.

failrly new to the forum. had my vanquis card about 5 months now couldnt belive it when they accepted me my credit in the past has been shocking however trying to sort it out with the help of the mighty vanquis - i must say although apr is high defo a good tool to rebuild credit.

my credit limit is £250 but not yet had a increase hoping they give me one soon - paid on time every month dont understand why havent had an increase after statement 4 - hopefully next time:D
  • I've recently been accepted. I applied ages ago but got rejected so went with Aqua instead.

Asked my income £65 a week. Household income over £25k, yes.

Gave me a card with a £1000 credit limit. Aqua gave me £1850, I can see another financial crisis in the making.
