Statement 17 (by my count) is due at midnight.

Stay tuned to see if I finally get my first increase (that's right, I'm STILL on £250 with 16 green zeroes on my file and no new adverse data in 2010).

I believe I hold the record on MSE for the longest serving £250 limit Vanquis card (excluding anyone who has ever missed a payment or gone over limit, which I have not done).

Ok, so it might be statement 16 looking at my credit file. By my reckoning, if they are to be believed in reviewing every 4 months then this is a limit review statement (fingers crossed).

And just in case there is any doubt, here is a visual representation....

I got the thumbs up last week and had "the" phone call in which they confirmed i was approved last Thursday.

    What comes next please?

A card or an agreement that I have to sign and send back?

    Thanks

As far as I can remember (I got my Vanquis card in Feb'09), you don't have to send anything back to them. Just sign on the back of your credit card, activate it & you are all set to use it. All the best

My statement was generated on the 10th of the month and my limit stayed the same at £750 - the next day (late afternoon) I got a text saying my limit had been increased to £1750 so the increase doesbn't always seem to come on the statement.

Thats quite unbelievable! I've have had mine a month now and was planning on running it similar to wht to have described, so I hope they dont do that to me :(

have you contacted them to ask why they have not increased your limit dispite a perfectly run account?
When you applied did you have a lot of other outstanding credit?

When I took the card I had 3 defaults and 2 CCJs on my file. Tomorrow the last default falls off. CCJs went back in June. The only adverse info now is 4 non-consecutive late payments on my mobile contract, all in 2009.

Total outstanding debt is just over £800 with an income of £14k.

Also, yes I did write to them a couple of months ago querying my limit. I just got a standard form letter saying that I didn't qualify for a limit at present.

  • Hi all, I applied for a Vanquis card last night (online!). They phoned me this morning to confirm a few details, and the lady said that I had been accepted for a card. My credit limit is £250 - which is just fine as I simply want to use this card to rebuilder/improve my credit rating.

Do you guys know how long they take to send things through? Also, if they phone to say that you have been accepted etc, is that a dead cert that you will get the card? Sorry if these questions sound ridiculous, but I have heard stories of people being accepted and then being declined etc...
  • Yes, you have been accepted. My card arrived in about a week - the PIN a couple of days after the card.
