I applied for a card a few months ago (can't remember when) and they phoned me on my mobile several times. They said they needed to go through the application over the phone so I told them to forget it. Wonder why they needed to do that?
They ring you if you've been approved just to double check what you put on the application wasn't made up. So you missed out there!0 -

Right, Recently accepted by Vanquis with a £250 limy and 42.89% APR, Can someone give me an idiots guide on how best to use this? Its my first credit card and Im totally confused how to avoid the high interest, Ive set up a direct debit with vanquis and Im paid monthly, earn around 24k and Im only looking to use it to help build positive history.
Thanks0 -
Treat it like it's accessing your bank. Use it for transactions you'd normally make with your debit card. Then either set up a DD for the full amount every month or if you need to go over the limit have the DD for the full amount but pay with your debit card say 100 to free up your credit line for bits n bobs. Long as you do this and don't withdraw cash on it you will be well on your way to better cards!0

Right ok, so If I spend say £40 this month can I call and pay off the £40 only without incurring interest?0
