Yesterday I got a text message with the sender as "CardService" saying that my Vanquis credit limited has been increased to £1000. It also stated my current balance as of 25/06/2010 which matches what I owe on this months statement.
I'm scared to use it in case it hasn't been increased and it declines at the till!
But I take it it must be genuine if whoever the texter was knew my current balance!
No need to worry about being able to use it or not.
Just remember its a high APR card so best best is to spend what you can repay in full the next month0 -
I've had a Vanquis card for about 2 years now. I got a text saying that my credit limit had increased to £2500, had a letter yesterday to confirm that it was increased. This was the first time I'd had a text but still got the letter as well.0

Finally got rid of my Vanquis card. Can anyone explain why someone would want to keep a card with such a rip off interest rate and poor customer service.Barclaycard 3800

Well for the same reason you had it of course, because they are finding it difficult getting credit elsewhere and want a tool to build up positive repayment history on their credit file after a patch of bad credit or because they are new to credit.
Everyone has to start somewhereAnd everyone has the option to set up the account with a Direct Debit for the full amount so that no interest is paid.
Of course I'm the last to advocate Vanquis' customer service and would rate the Halifax Aqua customer service team as streets ahead any other sub prime customer service credit card team I've ever spoken to.
The "Chatham Chavs" that support the Vanquis card could do with being flushed down the toilet and be replaced with a laptop in India, you'd get better advice.
Best to use the card little enough that you never need to call them and get rid as soon as ye can get a card elsewhere, like you and I haveCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

yes I always pay it off. I have a Aqua card and a Halifax classic visa card too. I use them for credit rating building and sometimes on large purchases and pay off over 2-3 months with the Halifax classic as it's a slightly lower APR rate.0

Or longer. Never missed a payment, credit rating is a million times better than it was when I took the card and still waiting.Remember this: nothing worth doing is easy.0 -
A Gold Card!!
How can I get one of those????? Is it really pretty????
I have had my blue one for just over a year now, only 39.4ish% (Lucky me!) and a limit of £1250. Monthly bill paid in full that's never missed and never over limit. Not employed though. Have other credit that's all paid off each month (catalogue and bits etc).
Actually I love Vanquis. The only one to give me a card. I use it a little more sparingly than I ought, but each time I have spoken to customer services they have been friendly and helpful.0 -
