once you have an adverse credit agreement it dont matter how long ago they still wont give you credit:money:
    Sorry but that is untrue.
I got in to a mess back in 1999-2002 and defaulted on many agreements due to me being irresponsible and stupid, I now hold credit accounts with the same companies today.;)
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

you pair need to do your homework a bit more i applied to mbna again the other week knowing full well i knocked them in 1999,i explained to him ive got declined, but also explained i defaulted in 1999 was this the reason, and then i said well this should not matter it was like 11 years ago,he replied not 100% sure how other companies work but with us once you have an adverse credit agreement it dont matter how long ago they still wont give you credit:money:

i just applied for the sygma flybe card cause everyone is talking about it,guess what got declined...oh well nevermind !!!!!!! !!!! airline

You're getting rejected very regularly. This will be becaused your credit file is dirty. I am sure MBNA realised you're not the sort of customer they want. Not because of a default in the last century. I can understand that for some people this is all quite complicated, so don't beat yourself up over it :j

I do love the irony of somebody coming out with that line, when all they are posting on this forum is misinformation.

    You're funny!

Flybe accepted me and rejected you. That must mean my credit file ie better than yours? How does that feel big boy?

The credit card companies were indeed good enough to lend me money. All 3 accounts were cleared within a few weeks of defaulting, so nobody lost out. Everyone's a winner.

Then maybe do some more homework and actually analyse your credit file. I know where my strengths and weaknesses are. I know exactly how many searches, and when. I know dates defaults drop off. I know when in 2005 I last had a late payment. I know all of this. so I know EXACTLY why my credit file isn't the best.

That's probably why I get accepted for credit, and they kick your non-credit-worthy a$$ out to the kerb. :j
  • Damn i love you vanquis lot for starters mr star fire don't upset these lot,ive done that by winding them all up, basically none of your sorry !!!!!! are credit worthy, you pair keep paying the APR's on your 69% high school credits cards.
(tfd) by what you have wrote i know your strengths and weaknesses.
you have the strength to apply for good cards but can not get them, and your weaknesses are by the sound of it good credit cards are rejecting you cause you dont bother paying them.mr star fire thought you would be able to get a flybe card.

    Watch it matey!

Dont be making unilateral generalisations like that!

There are plenty of vanquis card holders on these forums that don't spout tripe (StarFire) because they trust some sales agent in a call centre (MBNA) over those with oodles of first hand experience.

And Star Fire? For the record, once an account is written off, it's illegal for the company to keep any record of it or use it in decision making for more than eight years. RBS confirmed to me that they keep records of closed accounts on file for five years. This was their AVU unit. N-I-D will confirm these are the gate keepers and can be trusted not to lie. MBNA declined you because you have bad credit, not because of your prior default, unless you are suggesting they break the law with every credit analysis they do?

    It's the truth :O)
They don't want to hear it though.....it's a common thing here that people bite when they are told things they don't like and they are fact.

    You're joking right? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I think it is you that needs to do your homework! If you want to measure d!ck sizes then i'll play cos you're wrong - you do not have a clue!

If you had a default with ANY company then after 6 years from the date of default the entry is removed in its entirety, if a lender used it against you in any scoring modules after the cut-off point they would be in breach of their Consumer Credit Licence and could be substantially fines and/or lose their licence.

Now, you;re telling me that one of the largest banks in the US don't know this? I think it was you who misunderstood - MBNA would have no reason to say such things, along with that, as iZools stated - current HMRC legislation states that a business must retain data for a period of 6 years from closure of account so that would mean worse case scenario, they may have a record of your default BUT they cannot refer to it in any way whatsoever in assessing a new application.

    That, I can guarantee you.

Now if you need help, ask and we'll provide answers. But don't come acting a clever sod when you know fcuk all. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
