Just interested to know.....which card would be the best one to apply for once you are established with Vanquis?
My problem is not bad debts but I have lived overseas for a few years, and only been back here just over a year, so no 3 year credit history for me.
I am Australian, which also doesnt help apparently.
Vanquis was the only lender to give me a credit card, which I have held for 7 months, I also have a debit card account with RBS. So how long do you think I should wait for applying again (just applied for RBS came back no) and which would be a good one to apply for next? Please God, help me stop spending!0 -

Ok an A/P will last for no longer than the standard 6 year reporting period and will automatically drop off at the end of the arrangement with no record linked again.
Similarly, it would have bearing on any application. To be fair, an [A/P] marker on your credit report is derogatory but the least in the sense of "bad risk" - it shows you are trying to sort things out.
A Bankruptcy is worse
Then CCJ
then Default
Then A/P
Then late payments
with any of the above, 6 years is the normal reporting period afterwhich the entry should not and rarely is referred to - ever!2010 - year of the troll
