Have you ever won an appeal yet? What nasties have you got? did you say a ccj/default?

Obviosuly depends what you get back from your SAR's but like we discussed mate for 30 quid it is well worth it..... well to me it is anyway! I'm actually getting excited to see what they have written about me, if a member of staff thinks i'm a nob and types it on her PC i'll know about it! haha

I think you'll be in a better position to know exactly what is going on after you get the SAR data back. That's why I said don't just do cifas and hunters - do them all cos they will hold different data.

I'll post a letter to appeal whatever info they have later, next week probably!

It should take a month to read it all - hahaha

Does it actually give you that type of information.

I.E this customer is arrogant. He always rings for offers, don't offer him nothing.

Yea! I done a SAR on my BT Phone as i'd kicked off big style (I bought a new house and they came to put phone line in and caused damage) anyway I called the engineer a F**King Banker and he reported it so I went right off on one and started being really nasty to em on the phone.

Anyway, long story short they fixed the work etc and when I sent off SAR I got some weird stuff back, like a transcript of my phone call word for word (embarrasing when I read it back) and also everything that had ever gone on, I mean everything. It even had that the member of staff had typed Banker in their notes (yes I got a copy of that)....

It shows you everything mate. The only exception is medical and criminal records as they could affect your life so they are allowed to hide sensitive info, i.e if your GP thinks you're going to kill yourself he wouldn't let you see that he was worried cos it may push you over the edge so that would be kept aside. Likewise if anti terrorist cops wanted you, they wouldn't show you this....

    Hey NID,

All of my nasties stem from identity theft - Someone managed to open 30 credit accounts and defaulted them  Although all of the lenders agree that it was not me that opened these accounts it still took ages to get the data removed!!!! As I was explaining to Sutton earlier I still often get random linked addresses showing on my credit file

Although my files now seem clean - at least what I can see anyway I am sure there is still adverse data held about me.....

I want to see what the companies say regarding the ID theft i.e I think this guy did not have his identity stolen, I think he is a liar and opened all these accounts himself.....:D

Ahh I know exactly what you mean. Is the links on equifax by any chance? It will be hunters that is your problem, I have similar issues and to be honest because hunters think i'm the linked person they update their systems which in essence means that my real data is obscured with the incorrect link meaning everything is being rejected and cifas markers each time cos nothing adds up.

It can become a nightmare if you're not savvy! Ive been dealing with this for almost 2yrs now and you know what, i'm still no better off and that's why i've now decided to SAR them all. Cos I have learned the law, the ICO, DPA - the lot! Now I know exactly what they can and cannot hold/do about me and after I get the SAR's back i'll be demanding it is put right. Anyone fails to do it will get issued small claims for defamation of character and then a separate libel claim issued which is a minimum of 5k compo.

obviously in court when I prove i'm not the linked person, i've won! simple really and the CRA's seem to forget this little fact!

LOL, when you do SAR the 7 companies you'll be impressed at the stuff they have, i mean it even has staff comments like 'the guy started shouting at me and called me an effin nobba' stuff like that (obviously only if you did say it lol)

I cringed when I read my BT one and realised I need to chill out a little.... on one I demanded that I speak to someone from England being I pay in pounds, speak in english and the name of the company is british telecom. The guy on the phone was indeed english, an english asian! ooops. he actually wrote that in the notes!

Its actually Experian that is causing the issues...... They have today advised me that they are requesting permission to remove the links again but suggested that I contact the IC as the incorrect data keeps being re entered everytime the company sends there monthly update to the CRA
