My husband got declined, but has been hounded by Yes loans via the home phone, email AND his mobile!!!:cool:0

Do anyone know if you can appeal and if it is worth it?
Thanks x0 -
Vanquis don't normally entertain appeals I'm afraid. You will just have to wait 6 month until you can apply again.0

Could you elaborate on the min finance charge thing at all?
If you are charged interest for anything less than £1, they round it up to £1 calling it the "minimum finance charge".
I don't know about anyone else, but I've had 1 (that I've noticed so far) and I always pay in full via direct debit. I called up to complain and they said they had to investigate it and get back to me. I never heard a thing from them after that and can't be bothered to complain again as its only £1 (probably what they are banking on!).0 -
I do have a question and I know i've sort of asked this before but i'll ask again. I was declined for a card in december time and then sent in an appeal by recorded delivery which they recieved on the 19th of december. I have phoned them regarding it but they say they have no information on their system about it so it must still be getting reviewed. I Am wondering whether someone could advise how long I should wait until I should give them another phone call or write another letter. I realise they may have a backlog as it was over the christmas period. Hope someone can advise. :beer:0

See post below from another thread.
Cheeky bu99ers at Vanquis! Got my statement today and there's £1.00 minimum finance charge on it. Phoned to ask what it was and was told 'oh that's the charge we make when your interest is less than £1'. All well and good but I pay the statement in full each month, 'sorry - that charge shouldn't be there - I'll get it taken off'.
How many accounts each month do they put this £1 charge on in error but it gets paid because nobody queries it?
Somewhere else I've read that they put this charge on if you use your card on the day the statement is issued but I never have....Magiciansgirl0 -

I started a thread today about this very issue. they have done it to me several times last year and this year as well. they are quick to refund it each time i complain. i am fed up about having to waste time and money calling to have them fix it. i have reported them today to the FO. i want my call charges refunded as well as for my time as well. it is definately a scam and we aren't the only ones. USELESS VANQUIS.QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0 -

On the website it says they will increase the limit on the 4th statement - does anyone know why I haven't got the increase?
EDIT: I called them back on the 0800 number above (I gave up earlier as I had been waiting 20 minutes on the 0871 number) and they said its because I hadn't been keeping my account right up to its existing credit limit.
I've had mine since May and no increase.
VANQUIS use CAIS so can see how you are performing on other credit accounts each month not just your Vanquis card.
Although my account conduct with Vanquis and all 3rd party creditors has been flawless. My statement balances have been £200 ~ £249.77 was the highest (close!!) but never overlimit, never late, always used the card, been paying in full for the last three months so no interest, but despite having just paid my ninth statement in full there's no sign of an increase.
I've got a complaint outstanding with themselves and their local trading standards. I went through the whole default standard tripe they talk about using it each month, staying within your limit, spending upto the limit, running other accounts well, yada yada yada and they agreed that my accuont conduct should have earned me an increase nearly straight away and they can't understand why it hasn't been done.
I've been given the standard crap about "we can't make a manual decision it's all automatic sorry you'll have to wait" but every time I've stated "That doesn't negate the fact you make a clear cut statement in your advertising slogans about the 4th statement that you have failed to uphold and I consider you in breach of the regulations governing advertising of credit products"... been nearly a month not a peep about the complaint response.
I can see this is yet another thing I'll have to take to the FOS.
And don't get me started about their crap about how to pay zero interest. I was arguing with a bloke on their helpline for half an hour trying to get him to understand "I've cleared the last two bills in full so I shouldn't be charged interest on my next one".. he spoke to his line manager TWICE and BOTH times came back saying I was wrong despite I got him to look up the clause in the credit agreement... he swore blind that I'd have to leave the balance at £0 for a whole billing cycle for the interest to stop... third time he spoke to his manager I got a big apology. If only he'd not been such a stubborn !!!!! neither of us would have wasted 45 mins of our life...

EDIT: Thankfully I've missed the £1 charge if a transaction gets applied on statement day... if that happens... by george I think I'll jump on a train to Chatham and give them a good bloody hiding!!!Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
