Vanquis accept faster payments meaning if your bank do it then its almost instant but doesn't credit instantly (so say you send £50 via your bank using FP it'll credit the Vanquis account within a few minutes but your balance will not reflect the payment for a day or so)....
If you pay using the Vanquis online link it takes between 2-3 days usually. So if your due to pay on 5th of the month, i'd pay it on 1st just to be sure. With Faster Payments i'd send on 3rd just to be sure.2010 - year of the troll

Thanks very much for the info....:money:0 -
Slightly off topic here, but could do with some assistance please.
I applied for a Vanquis card around 4months ago and was asked to send in a passport or driving license - so I presume I was primarily accepted.
I have recently moved house and Im not on the electoral roll at my current address yet so do I:
a) Contact Vanquis to notify them of my change of address and send in proof of ID etc
b) Get on the electoral roll at my current address first then notify them?
Don't want to be declined as I really need the card to help re-build my credit rating.
Any advice would be appreciated!!!0 -
If you didn't get the card in the end then don't re-apply yet.
I presume you have atleast one active account on your credit file, like a bank account or contract mobile phone?
First call anyone you have an active account with and give them your new address, also register with your local council to be on the rolling register.
It can take 30-90 days for the accounts to reflect at your new address, and also 30-90 days for the rolling registration to show you on the electoral role where you are now, so once you've fired off the registration and moved your accounts, give it three months before applying to Vanquis.
Then when you apply they will be able to ID you from your active account(s) and electoral role registration, so shouldn't ask for any IDCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Well when I initially applied I was on the electoral roll at my previous address and they still asked for proof of ID, I didn't follow it up by sending the ID into them, I presumed my application had been primarily accepted.0 -
Perhaps the address you gave didn't exactly match up with the address on the electoral role?
Either way, you'll stand much greater chance of being accepted if you are on the electoral role when you apply and have one or two active accounts at your current address, even if they do say yes before your ER goes through, you'll almost certainly get given a higher APRCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Cheers! I'll get on the electoral roll then apply, I have 2 defaults on my credit report one satisfied and one on-going, are there any other ways I can improve my rating? Hoping to go for a mortgage soon.0 -
Morning troops!
Still no increase
Ah well only had the card since May I suppose I shouldn't be so impatient.
Those of you who've had the nice increases, how have you run your Vanquis card? I have mine set up with a DD for the full amount and use it for the grocery shopping every month, which is around £200 ~ £250 so I take the card pretty close to its limit each month and pay off in full (The highest balance has been £249.77!! Never over limit, but that month was scraping it close)
Selecta_c seems to have the highest Vanquis limit here of £2,500 - how'd you do it mate?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I had £3,250 if I remember correctly. It was somewhere in the £3000 region anyway.
The highest balance I had was around £1200 however that was paid off before the statement arrived. I had around £700 carried over a few months. I always kept a balance and paid the interest, and my monthly payments would always be around £70-100 if there was a high balance.
They definitely reward interest payers though, in my opinion. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
