Maybe Next don't want to miss out on a sale so they soft search you to see if they can increase your limit.

Maybe yeah. I'll expect to get a big fat no then with the state my credit file is in.

And I wouldn't mind paying the extra in cash for the item which is a bit annoying, I'll just go buy it outright next week if the order gets cancelled.

VANQUIS are very naughty - they quote the simple interest rate with the card - 34.07% or something like that?

This is actually 39.9% APR; but they don't compound the interest when quoting it on correspondence ;)

Spot on. Capital One do the same!

Cheeky blighters, I thought I was on tier C and a half when I got my card through, there I was getting all excited that I had got a preferential rate.
  • They seem to have kept that quite.

Can anybody confirm that this isnt a scam to steel info

Didn't Vanquis tell the previous poster to use this site?
  • Did you know you can pay online at vanquis now? I didn't realise it was an option until I spoke to them yesterday.
Here is the link if anyone wants it...

    clicketyclickclick

also how do I get a text of my balance? or do I have to ring up for that?

Has anyone else used this service and can confirm that payment actually went onto the account?

Ahh, it mentioned on the back of a statement a couple of months ago I think - I can't remember exactly mate but its in my bookmarks and I use it to clear the balance after the DD takes min amount....

Its not instant to the account though, same as faster payments - it accepts FP but they take a day or two to hit the account

Well I am completely shocked to find that my new Vanquis card has a lower APR than my MBNA card, who doubled my interest rate.

Btw, I am paying off the MBNA card properly, and the Vanquis is only ever used in the case of COMPLETE emergencies, and I haven't found one yet.:T
