or it can give them the strenght, courage and experience to deal with the real world in which arguments, nastiness or pettiness all exist. You are correct it can worsen your condition but it all depends where you are at in your life.

Recent events on here gave me the courage to deal with some real life issues e.g. have just started legal action against the karate club which a few months ago caused me so much distress that I posted on here for the first time.
Martin has set up a whole board for discussion of MSE policies HERE
this thread is not the place so further off topic posts will be removed/reported

people are NOT leaving because of the rules, which we have all read (and re-read) and accept. They are leaving because even posts that break NO rules are getting deleted without explaination. Some posters feel this is their thread and can at times be patronising. This is the 2nd time the mods / board guides have closed a thread and started a new one, that to me is like sweeping the problem under the rug, leave the threads open and deal with the problem(s) don't just shut them and us down / out.

Sssssss - just wanted to say we get a new thread about every 1000 posts, and afaik this is pretty standard for most ongoing threads on MSE if I understand rightly, which is why we have a new thread.

    Hi all!

Feeling super pleased... Picked up some baby stuff from my parents, including a baby car seat from when DD2 was born, and realised we've saved ourselves a heck of a lot of money for it. This little one is going to have lots of secondhand things but all in good condition, so pleased I kept all the washable nappies from both DDs. DD2 is still in nappies as she refuses to toilet train (she's 2.5yrs) so it kinda offsets that expense whcih hopefully won't be for too much longer - I'm sure she could if she put her mind to it, I think it will happen before she's 3 but there's no rush anyways.

Enough baby talk LOL! Got to do some shopping today - used to get it online but borrowed my dad's car and the supermarket is really close (but no bus route to it) so saving the delivery charge and going ourselves. Can't say Sunday is my ideal day for shopping :eek::eek: but it seems to work out better that way for the week, not sure how!

Also got to get a prezzie for DD1's birthday. Not sure what to get her yet though! She's going to be 5 - where did all that time go?!??!!?

Hello to everyone. I've been reading the various MSE mental health threads for quite afew years now, and occasionally posting on them.
Threads do indeed get closed around the 1000 post mark - I remember a Big Brother thread a couple of years ago which hit 1000 a couple of times and we had to open a new continuation thread PDQ to keep up with the BB goss and have a banter. (I think the box a thread lives in gets stretched to busting sometimes, so it seems a good idea to close the thread before the box bursts all over our screens ;) )

Like millions of other people in this country I've experienced mental health problems and for many years now have, with others, fought the stimatisation and discrimination surrounding mental health.

I understand the need for MSE policies. For the policies to be effective MSE and Board Guides must not only apply them, but be seen to apply them fairly across all Boards and threads. The slippery bog of discrimination is deep and hard to climb out of.
    Best wishes
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

    Moving next Saturday.

    Can't wait. :)

Sam is so excited, bless him. :rotfl:
It's weird because all of my previous partners have treated me like something they've stepped in.
Sam treats me lovingly and like a person, and he's also my best friend e.g. pillows at the ready for a fun fight.:rotfl: and staying up until all hours just talking about random stuff. XD.

    xx

Good luck with the move LadyM! I don't blame Sam being excited - it is exciting!

WVW - please don't go - this place would be all the poorer without your wise words, kindness and support.

Right, can't believe I'm up and awake this early on a Sunday lol zip it Tiffy!:D Me and Gilly Badger have a hot date with Sainsburys lol

Have a lovely Sunday everyone

  • I'm not leaving - just taking some time out for reflection and cooling down.

Lady M - sorry I forgot to mention you, I hope the move goes well and you're happier in your new place, and you hang on to that wonderful man of yours (or else I might pinch him!)

Sazbo - thanks for your comment, sometimes my mouth (or in this case, fingers) can get me into trouble so it's best just to give myself a bit of time out

Jo_R - hope the baby arrives safely and healthy,

Sorry to everyone I've missed and not mentioned, am too lazy to scroll back through the old thread so please don't take it personally if I've missed you. Will catch up with you all in a while. Take care of yourselves - remember you are all the most important person in your own lives x
The independent woman's checklist for success :
    1. Look like a lady, 2. Act like a man, 3. Work like a dog
Life instructions : 1. Breathe in, 2. Breathe out, 3. Repeat ad infinitum
[strike]2008 - £4k challenge member 063[/strike] gave up halfway thru, not sure I even earned that much, so probably achieved it

Ssssss sorry your posts are being threatened by a BG,i see no harm in speaking your mind, some people have a problem with it and like to show their authority, the big i am,larging it, if you get the drift, the subject your posting is ON topic at this time,a few users are posting about it,including a board guide, but yet only yours seems to be under threat of removal as only your post has been quoted
    absolute rubbish
but I'll quote your post so you don't feel left out

this is a moneysaving site, Martin is happy to have this thread here for comfort and support but has to protect hiself and the site against any possible problems/comebacks, if that involves asking the team/BG to remove any reference to drugs/side effects etc etc then that is what will happen, it's not personal, it's following the rules of the site as they stand at this time :)

Andrea asked that a new thread be started as a fresh start!!

Martin is fond of asking us to draw a line under things so can we please do this and get back to supporting people

obviously if you have a legitimate grievance than you can voice it :) but do it via the correct channels, an email to abuse, link in my sig, or a post in the rules/policies board

if it carries on in this thread I'll lock it and ask abuse to take a look at whether it should continue and where on the site,
