    Morning all!

Pam - I use the recipe in the panny book to make the dough and then use some french stick tins that I got on Amazon (it was that D&DD leading me astray again, saying about finding them!). They're great, quite crispy.

Mudgekin - tell me about the puds - my button pinged off my work trousers last night when I bent over - oops! No more choc fudge cake for me!

Gloomy outside today, and bloomin cold too! Had some snow last night, came down really hard, but think the rain washed it all away, the roads were horrible when I drove back from work though.

OS wise I've dog walked, S&S the kitchen, cleaned my bathroom, hoovered, tidied my room, cleared the sitting room and made everyone pancakes for brekkie! Need to get on with the painting, but can't stop sneezing at the mo, it's ridiculous, I feel like Norris McWhirter will turn up any mo and tell me I've broken the record for most sneezes in a minute!

Lunch will be leftover chilli for me, kids had hm cheese rolls, apple, peach, choc and orange muffin and yoghurt.

Dinner is macaroni cheese - called pasta in cheese sauce as dd1 doesn't like mac cheese but will eat that, she's 14 for heaven's sake! Will mix in some broccoli, cauli and peas I think, kids will have leftover gammon with theirs (well what's left, the fridge mice seem to have been at it - kids dad was here last night, so I have my suspicions about who's to blame!!!)

Another quick cuppa I think and then on with the pink. Hugs to all in need and congrats where due - RMac any news yet????! xx

    Edit:

Essex girl - marguerite patten (sp?) has some really good choc cake recipes that are pretty dense, might be worth a google! Or Thriftlady's fudge cake is lovely if you want one as a pud.

    Morning Everyone.

I've not read the thread yet but just want to say I hope that everyone is doing ok. I've got 2 different people coming to the house today to sort out my houseguest's college application & check me out as a suitable 'parent' so I'm quickly doing dinner & sorting washing out. Got a lot of the big stuff pegged out & hoping it'll dry as it's sunny here with a breeze but cold. No snow or rain thankfully.

Hugs to all that want/need one & I'll catch up later.

    Morning all!

It's a beautiful day here in Staffs, the sky is blue, the sun is shining, there was a light dusting of snow on the ground when i got up and it is a bit chilly, but it is good to see the grey clouds lift and for the sun to shine for a while :)

This morning i have been quite busy, after taking the children to school and college i came home, got the washing on and now its in the dryer , I then did all the breakfast dishes and chopped vegetables to go in the SC and then i sealed some lovely pork loin and put that at the bottom of the SC before placing the vegetables over the top. I have used my SC more since becoming a regular on the OS forum and i'm now beginning to wonder how i ever managed without it. I daren't think of the number of times i have but the oven on to cook one casserole, never using the other oven space, never even thinking about it at all!

Still, the main thing is that i am learning about OS ways now, better than never learning at all.

Today i am going to flick the dust from one end of the room to the other, hoover the living room, make some pizza bases to freeze as standby bases, and hopefully, get around to making an inventory of my freezer contents.

Rightio, i'm going to pour another cup of tea and read through this thread from the begining and see what you are all up to today.

    Have a good day

Hi - just calling in to recommend an ink cartridge supplier. I have an Epson SC600FW all-in-one printer, and the inks from PC World would cost me £37.99 for a complete set. I ordered a set from an online supplier yesterday afternoon and they are already in my printer. The complete set cost £14.25 including VAT and shipping. I am really impressed with the prices and the service. They are www.pcfuel.co.uk and sell ink cartridges for all different printers. I just love to find such a bargain!

    No news from R.Mac yet?

  • Morning. Not had chance to read the thread - will read later. yestreday I did nothing but type for money and keep breaking off to go and re-load the washer. Stripped all the beds and washed all the bed linen. Today I have been working (typing) since about 8.30 and have just had a "break" to clean the windows in my living room. HELP! I have now cleaned then twice - once with the asda window cleaner and once with my own stardops and vinegar solution. I have now used three differnt cloths and newspaper to "rub them up" and still they are streaky greasy looking. What am I doing wrong? They are really beginning to irritate me and technically I shouldn't even be doing it as I hurt my knee again yesterday - over-stretched stripping the beds and put too much weight on it....... . Anyway I have just left the stuff on the windowledge and managed to put the hoover away and will now go and type whilst I calm down....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

I've just lost a mammoth post twice! ARGH

Thank you all for all your kind words, thoughts and pm's yesterday. I'm a haphazard poster (in content and regularity :o ) so was really amazed at all the responses. It means a lot.

Reverbe the red cross has a register of all those who were in danger but have survived - have a look there. I fear it will be some time until there is an official list released - there are still areas to which access is impossible and the authorities are determined to do everything properly, including identifying people.

To reassure you, UK papers, in common with papers of all nationalities, report what is of interest to their readers. If they got wind of a recently emigrated British family who had died in the fires I'm sure they would have reported it.

Meanmarie, have you had word from Beechworth? I believe the threat, though still definitely there, and frightening, has abated somewhat. Hopefully there was sufficient warning for all there to put into action their flee or fight plans and that your loved ones are safe.

OS wise today... well, I've cleaned out the cat's litter tray, does that count? :D I have a mountain of washing, ironing, and washing up to do but it's far too late to bother with it now. I have a day off tomorrow so I'll do it then. Need to do some batch cooking too.

Beemuzed have fun at the gym. I went today but got rather too engrossed in an episode of the simpsons and didn't really put in sufficient effort :o

PP I too am still laughing at your story from yesterday

Hester I understand your willingness to do what it takes to keep your job, but don't take on more than you can cope with. It already sounds like you do far more than is fair. I guess you're caught between a rock and a hard place though. Perhaps if they accept that there really is a need they will consider extending your paid hours?
