  • EH - lol at the "stand back" advice.
Our vet isn't the best at controlling cats (he is more of a dog man!) One time we took our Rosie and he tried to give her a worming tablet......... big mistake ........she flew off the table, bounced off all four walls and ended up with her claws embedded in the nurse's hand!
He now gives the tablets to us to administer:rotfl:
  • I have actually found a completely foolproof way of giving my cat tablets.

I sit on her! Actually I don't quite sit on her, what I do is kneel on the floor with my legs crossed behind me and sit back on my heels with my knees open. I put the cat between my knees (she can't back out) and then lift her head up, open her jaws with one hand and shove the tablet as far back in her mouth as I can and holding her head up stroke her throat until she swallows. It sounds a bit drastic but it's literally done in seconds. It's the only way I have found that stops her getting upset and me scratched to bits.
  • Big HELLO Everyone!

    snip
Looking forward to getting to know you all (or getting to know you again in some cases!).

    FE.

Hands up those singing...........getting to know you, getting to know all about you. Getting to like you, getting to hope you like me. Getting to know you, putting it my way, but nicely, you are precisely, my cup of tea. Getting to know you, getting to feel free and easy, when I am with you, getting to know what to say. Haven't you noticed suddenly I'm bright and breezy, because of all the beautiful and new things I'm learning about you .........day ............ by ........... day......... (now I've emptied the room with my out of tune warbling :o )
  • Reverbe – hope you can find out if your friend is ok.
MSD – sorry that Tristan’s op wasn't totally successful, his anger is understandable but hope it soon goes so he can “let in” the people who want to love and help him.
    Fairyelephant, hello :hello:
Moggins – you must do what is best for you and your children, easy to say, sometimes hard to do. Well done for applying for 10 jobs! Hope you are successful.
Bargainbird – sorry to hear your DH has been made redundant, hope he finds something soon. Glad Spike is thriving (couldn’t see his photo)
Linz – a visit to Poundland and Home Bargains would get you lots for your £4.86. (you could perhaps get a heart shaped cake tin and bake a special cake)
Hester – don’t offer to do any more than you are doing unless they are going to pay you. From what I have read you work very hard already.
I have one persistent cat trying trying to stop me typing so I guess I had better take the hint and go and get her some food before she gives Cats Protection a call.
