Afternoon all,
Hugs to all in need or want, especially those who are ill, who have dear ones who are ill, those who have had a redundancy in the family or those who are still suffering weatherwise.
Fairy elephant....welcome back, hugs for your sad news.

Phew, hello everyone. Hope you're all well.
I'm feeling wrecked this afternoon. Have had a challenging couple of days. Went back to work yesterday after the docs, had a meeting with my line manager after work. Today work again followed by a department meeting.
At least that's it until after half term now. Was saying somewhere this morning that the domestic manager seems to have pushed off on holiday while I was away. there is so much catching up to do on the Home Front, but I want to do some sewing and other things during half term. It's 5.20 and still some light in the sky as it's been a bright afternoon. I was worried that my extra sunshine wouldn't last me till the spring, but maybe it's OK.
DS wants HM pie tonight. THe turkey leg I got yesterday will be perfect. I roasted the boned thigh with spicy mix over it and served with home made savoury rice. THe drumstick was poached in with the thigh bone and few bits of veg to make stock, Shall use some of this thigh meat to make the pie along with some onions and white sauce, Can make the sauce with milk powder and some of the stock. Have plenty in the freezer for soup making. Have veg lurking in fridge and freezer. Pastry was got out of the freezer this morning, thank heavens for building blocks!

Hi Pam
Lakeland have recently started selling french bread pans. I've got some (from before LL started doing some) and they are great. Each one does two baguettes. http://www.lakeland.co.uk/baguette-tray/F/keyword/french/product/12319
If you didn't want to go down that route then the other option is to use a tea towel. Lay out a clean tea towel and flour it, put it on a tray or a board. Carefully lay your shaped french bread dough on the tea towel, and then pleat the sides up to make a support. Cover the dough and leave to rise etc etc.
When the dough has risen, carefully roll it off the tea twel onto your prepared (pre heated) baking sheet.
Hope that helps. Hazel.0 -
Afternoon everyone
Hugs to MSD, Bargainbird and Fairy Elephant. Hester, don't take any cr*p from anyone, you don't deserve it.
Had to do a disappearing act for a few days as I was feeling all over the place. OH and I had massive rows over the weekend and I packed his bags as I had had enough. We patched things up though and went off to have a quiet drink together and talk things over away from the kids. Yesterday however it appeared that nothing I said had sunk in and I am now regretting not standing by my decision.
Today I have remembered my favourite saying that the only person you can change is yourself. I am refusing to let anything he does stress me out, I am going to work on my own life and if he doesn't want to follow then I can't make him.
I will make myself a better life no matter what it takes and I applied for 10 jobs today!0 -

I don't know anything about you or your situation really but i hope you won't mind my saying that if you can't put yourself first, put your children first and think about what is best for them.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Evening all!
Moggins - sorry to hear things are still bad but well done on those job applications - I'll cross my fingers that you're successful.
MSD - such a shame that the op didn't have the desired effect. I'm sure he'll be speaking to you again once he's had a while to calm down - I'm guessing he has precious little control over his life right now so he's enforcing what little control he does have.......
meanmarie and Reverbe - I do so hope you have answers from your enquiries shortly - please do let us know if you hear anything.
LoopylinzRedruby: get him 4 lottery tickets and 86 penny chews , you never know you might end up millionaires
Lots of flooding here in Essex - the main road I use to get to work (A127) was closed this morning but thankfully it was closed slightly further up than Radio 2 were saying and I managed to sneak through the back lanes and paddle my way in! each side of the M25 on our section was deep underwater - I feel for the farmers on that stretch as they seem to get this happening so often now. Apparently central chelmsford has problems as the Chelmer has burst its banks right in the middle of town.
Late finish at work tonight and early start tomorrow as I have to go out on site to assess one of our Supervisors after a couple of recent incidents. He knows what I'm there for and thankfully we get on well so it should be OK. Does mean I have to be at the depot for just after 6.30am though. I loathe getting up early! Not much OS today as a result - I was pleased I'd got Home made mutton tagine out of the freezer for dinner tonight - nice and quick and easy with couscous and pitta bread. WM will go on overnight tonight. I'm really behind on my flylady this week and have another night tonight where I can't face doing much. Will probably S&S the kitchen before I go to bed. That'll be about it though. I have started putting together the shopping spreadsheet I was planning on - I need to rake through my bag & purse for any more receipts I've not yet found and add those in. Plus also work out which weeks we've had veg boxes and add those.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
