Hugs to all . not feeling so sparky today, I want to go to a concert on Thursday but am worried about the weather and if it will be called off/ i will be able to get there. I have to sign on this week and no doubt will get Hitler just be virtue of the fact that cos of the weather and other things I havent managed to apply for as many jobs as normal. There just isnt that many out there. I did apply for one at my old company and my CV was sent over to them Friday but was hoping to hear and start even on today.Havne't seen my OH since last May and all this Valentines stuff just reminds me of that even tho I am not sure if I am loved and we are not one of those typa couples. And my best friend B and her family moved to Melbourne last year and she chose to drop contact and I am very very worried about whether or not she is ok with all these fires.

Will try to keep my head up and bbl. Love and hugs to those who need it and try to stay safe and warm everyone. xxx
Hope you start to feel brighter soon Reverbe. I hate Valentine's day myself even though I'm with dh & have been for 20yrs. It's a pile of carp designed by card companies  Have a nice bath or something & treat yourself on Saturday - tell yourself you love you instead :A

    Reverbe,

Have been poking around tonight in some of the news channels in Oz and only saw two people named as having died, a journalist named Naylor and his wife....do you know what area your friend is in as all the deaths seem to have been north of Melbourne....I just googled australian television and took my pick from there, towns at risk are named, but lots of places are without power...

Hopefully she and her family will be fine

thanks marie. I don't know her new name as she got married over there but her hubby worked in the film industry. They are saying 173 ppl died. I don't know where exactly she lived either as we lost touch once she moved. :(

    I hope she is ok..

I did a search online and there is a number you can call to the Australian Red Cross to check on family and friends. You can find the number here Australian Red Cross Vic Keep in mind that with all the devastation and loss of life that people may not get on the list for being ok or not for a while. Hope this helps hun. Lifting prayers for your friends and all the others in Australia.

    Lots of gentle hugs,

    Peyton xx

I am so grateful to read this, SunnyGirl! I thought I must be the only cynical woman around - as I too can't stand Valentine's Day and all that goes with it.

As teenagers, my friend and I used to buy lots of comic cards and send them to all the geeky boys we knew. It was meant to brighten their day - not as a cruel act and it seemed to work at the time. But that practice soon stopped once we got to about 17.
