Morning all...............(((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one, glad to hear you are feeling a little better Penpin.
Its dull here in the midlands this morning, we had a fall of snow yetserday, but it had stopped by the time we went to bed, the roads arre clear, I saw the gritter out yesterday afternoon treating the roads just before it started snowing.
OH had a good day yesterday, no dizzys......he is still in dream land.....
We have books to go back to the library so thats my trip for today, we are forecast heavy snow for tonight so need to gird my loins for that, thankfully we are well stocked up.
The bush fires in Australia are terrible, I cannot believe that morons are setting them.........words fail me. I feel so much for those who have lost their lives and their homes............ I know, like california they experience frequent busy fires, but one has to wonder how much global warming is affecting what is happeneing with the weather.
Yetsrdays roast beef was truely awful, I have mever tasted anything so vile, tough and stringy........and it had been in red wine for 24 hours, much against my better nature I chucked what was left in the bin. Shameful to wae food when people are starving, but even a starving man would have had problems with that meat.
Oaky spoky, time for my second mug of coffee, back later..............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning Chums well here in the Medway area of North Kent its just raining,
no frost although very wet and cold .
Quite a change from yesterday,I went with two friends to Newham Court nr Maidstone where there was a craft demo.Had a nice wander around and saw some nice things ,didn't spend a fortune ,for a change then we walked around to the pub on site for lunch.
The sun was shining, and the daffs are well up and in bud:j .Had a lovely lunch and on the way home we saw loads of snowdrops by the side of the road so spring won't be far away now hopefully.
It was so nice to see the sun for a change. My WM is on, but I think it will be put on the airer to dry today. I have some YS leeks that I am going to make into Leek & Tattie soup today.Probably a cheese toastie for lunch and I think some salmon with salad for dinner tonight as I have to be out early as I'm off to college.Hope everyone has a good Monday and <<hugs>> if you feel a bit down and poorly
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Hi All,
Sorry to hear about a troll having a go re the bush fires in Australia they're awful it was so worrying listening to the news yesterday. PP so glad you're feeling a bit brighter today. Your dh comments made me laugh!! (((((love))))) to all who need some today.
Dusting & vaccing through here today I've done upstairs & the bathroon now need to sort out clothes on airer from yesterday & put todays on, dust downstairs & vac the stairs & mop & vac downstairs. Mmmm that'll keep me busy I think! DH gone to get a smaller computer table from someone we know as I'm getting a freezer (new to me) in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm soooooo excited LOL!! We've got to re-jig the kitchen around though - at least it'll get a good clean while I'm at it. I just can't wait to start cooking double quantities etc & freezing them.
Chicken curry & rice for dinner here followed by fresh fruit salad I thought it'd be a bit of sunshine in a cold day. Everyone gone out now so it's just me, the dogs, cats & the radio I really appreciate the peace these days.
Have a good day all, don't let people get you down & take some time out for yourselves - we're a busy lot here on OS! Kathy what a lovely idea to celebrate your Dad on the day when it all began. ((((((((hugs to you today))))

Morning All
Almo - trolls are just inadequates, they must have sad lives if they need to go and upset people like that. (((hugs))) to you & all Aussies affected by this.
Mioliere, more (((hugs))) your way.
Weather pretty horrible here but not going to moan too much about it. Am in the office most of the day anyway - loads of paperwork to do. May do some ironing later but not much there luckily.
Cheap food tonight - egg and chips.
Not much else to say, am on Twitter now but am so not getting to grips with it.
Have a good day & keep warm.

Good morning
Off to work in a minute, was very poorly yesterday so nothing got done, now I am really behind with the housework, should of thought to ask DD to at least get one load of her own stuff done, she's 18 but needs instructions in the most basic tasks. I do worry about her and how she will get on when she goes to uni in Sept. Will get a load or 2 on when I get home. The ironing pile is huge, wonder if I can persuade her to give me a hand with it. Hugs to all, have a safe day.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Morning everyone!
Hope you're all raring to go given it's the start of another working week?
It's dry here with us and wasn't as cold as mainland Scotland (-18 ºC in Aviemore last night - that's freezer temperature!). Got my towels washed overnight and hung them out before I left this morning. DH is on a later shift, so he was going to hang out the other stuff before he leaves.
It'll be a quick tea tonight, as we've got Choir practice and it's a quick turnaround from when he gets in to when we have to leave! Pasta probably
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Good morning everyone! :hello:
Almo, hugs to you, ignore them. I steer clear of DT as much as possible, I think there are too many on there who get upset people and get into rows for the entertainment value. I like a good debate as much as the next person, but not at the extent of someone else's feelings.
Donny Gal, I LMAO at the William Tell one.
Mioliere, your post made me cry. Wednesday is the first anniversary of my granddad's passing, and I still don't feel that he's at rest. Everything is still up in the air, his will hasn't been executed, even though it's pretty much just moving everything from his name to my step-nan's. It's terrible. He got one of those freebie wills from the bank, and the bank were going to skim off a five-figure sum to execute it. This was the only change to his previous will, and he was suffering from dementia when he 'made' it. So the bank agreed that they won't take the money (my Dad is friends with politicians and senior journalists and everything, they really wouldn't want the attention!) but they're refusing to let anyone else execute it either, and they reckon he was totally compos mentis. So it looks like it'll all go to court. And it really isn't about the money, but my step-nan is in a £500 per week care home and it's HER MONEY to pay for her care. My Dad has had to remortgage both his and my Mum's house to keep the bills paid while it all goes on. There are times when I really hope that our loved ones aren't looking down on us from up there.
I was going to go out doing some Avon work, but outside looks cold and icy and indoors is warm and snuggly. Guess what I'll opt for today?!
Huge hugs :grouphug: to those who want or need one, WRAP UP WARM and have a good day xxx0 -
Morning All!
Chucking it down in Hastings this morning.
PP -Glad you feel better, what is your OH up to?
Almo _ Ignore idiots. I felt really sorry for the people on the news last night. It must be devastating to loose everything you've worked for.:o
DS is still asleep (what's new?!) OH is working downstairs, he's going ome later this morning.
We had a lovely boneless shoulder of lamb yesterday. reduced in Sainsbugs. None left tho.
Kathy- made your Monmouth Pudding yesterday. Delicious! Like a bread and butter pud with jam. I'll make it again.:T :T
Not a lot on this week. Meeting on Friday about work. GP and Nurse say they don't think I can go back. Got to ring the Union tomorrow to make sure they are coming.
Have a good day all!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Mrs mix good luck at the dentist!
Tired mum hope you feel better soon
Silvercharming, thats crazy about the will banks etc are all the same when it comes down to it. As you rightly say your Nan needs that money to keep her and it is rightly hers.
Well havent been on for a couple of days the sinus infection returned with a vengeance and had to go to the doc on saturday for some heavy duty pills to shift it. The packet said they will take a few days to work (deep sigh) anyway feel like Ive been under water for about a week now, DH has the same thing but in his ears bless him and the pain was too much he too had to get ears syringed and tablets to shift it. Never mind hope this is the beginning of the recovery now.
Really cold here today in Co Cork at least the snow has gone to be honest Im fed up with it now, its pretty for a while but then it just gets you down when you have to make a journey etc.
Have made some hob knobs (will try not to eat any promise) Ive lost about 5 pounds in weight this week with the infection so could do with trying to keep it off:j Off now to tidy a very messy house no cleaning done for almost a week so loads to catch up on. Having another go at baking!!!
Got dough for rolls proving atm and my new loaf tin arrived from Lakeland this morning so got bread dough proving in the kenwood bowl ready to go in there later on. I remembered the salt this time!!:D
Got DD2 home from nursery today with a bit of temp so not my usual productive day today.
Agree with everyone about the fires in OZ, can't believe that people would delibratly start them. The news last night was socking, people caught in their cars. Beggars belief, makes a little snow seem like a trivality, even though it has caused deaths here its not on the same scale IYSWIM. No snow for us today but then we're on the sussex coast so its gotta be bad for us to get it. Storm coming in this pm but probably jsut rain for us........ Hope everyone is managing ok, those that can't get out are coping on their umpteenth tin of beans lol!
Gonna try and get some stuff done so will check in later.....0
