Good evening all,
The day started bright and sunny with much milder temps than we've been having. By late this afternoon, the grey skies were back and you can feel the temp dropping. At least we shouldn't get any snow. My thoughts and prayers with those who are struggling to get out still. It truly has been a bad situation with these snows, and now more to come.
I dusted, polished the wood and hoovered today. I moved the furniture and hoovered under that also. It actually wasn't too bad under there. :rotfl: The kitchen and bathroom are cleaned from top to bottom. It feels good when your efforts show. And for those with kidlets at home still, I do remember how difficult it was to keep it that way more than 5 minutes.
Tea tonight is baked cod with leeks and mushrooms with a cheese topping. I put two recipes together and am hoping the results will be ok. We'll have steamed brocolli and fried potatoes with it. I had an extra jacket potato from the other day so just a quick slice up and fry in the pan. Afters will be a peach crumble type of thing. I wanted something with fruit but a warm. Will have that with cream.
Lots of good thoughts, wishes and prayers for all. Have a good evening.
Hugs,
Peyton xxTake the first step.

We've just had our evening meal it was delish
I've only fed 5 of us as ds3 was out with my parents but we've finished off the Potato Hash from yesterday as I've no room for it in the tiny freezer. I served it with crusty bread again & everyone loved it. I'm impressed as I fed 6 of us last night & 5 tonight I hadn't realised I'd done so much  :rotfl:
About to get the hair clippers out & do the boys & dh they're all looking a bit toilet brushy at the moThen I'm off for a relaxing soak in the bath I'm shattered tonight. I'll be watching Whitechapel on ITV1 at 9pm with the gorgeous Rupert Penry-Jones in it -swoon swoon
Have a good evening everyone I'll 'see' you all in the morning.

Tru - We ended up buying a couple of mousetraps, and the one in the kitchen has caught a mouse 2 nights running, but have bought a set of the sonic plug-in things today as it's a bit_pale_ when the first task of the day is emptying a mousetrapI was going to get the "humane" ones but it would mean driving to the park to let the mouse out if we caught one! I'm not sure if there are any more mice in the house but hopefully if there are, the sonic thingies will do the trick, preferably before the mice start on the potatoes!
I bought "Jamie's Ministry of Food" from the Book people last week, so yesterday I thought I'd try his roast chicken on a "vegetable trivet". The chicken was fine, but as for mashing the veg to a pulp to make the "Consistently Good Gravy"......I nearly dislocated my shoulder, I think! I don't think I'll be trying that again, it all seemed such a faff, though I know that was partly because it was the first time I'd tried it.(And the last:D )Has any of you had success with that gravy?
All for now

Evening :hello:
Havent read through yet been out most of the day, had to take my glasses back and have the new lenses put in, they werent the right size can you believe, I knew something was wrong with them as they were moving about when I cleaned them, ah well they are done now.
Just had leftover Pizza for Dinner and a chocolate eclair after yummmm
Its been a horrible day here, wet and soggy, its still raining now, one good thing the snow is fast disapearing.
Shame for the LO's though really, all the snowmen will melt, some of them are really good, coming home yesterday we passed a huge one complete with long blonde wig and red jumper, and another with a stripey scarf, baseball cap and a bomber jacket, and another with shiney raincoat and umbrella.
Very inventive these LO's arent they :T
(((hugs))) for all in need tonight x

Hi all - had a busy day today so haven't been able to catch up.
Almo (and Aussie who, mercifully, is away at the moment) - I just wanted to send my prayers and thoughts to all those in Australia who are being affected by the horrendous fires. The news is truly devastating. The Australians I've met are a tough, brave and determined bunch, so I hope they can pull through this dreadful time.

Hugs to all . not feeling so sparky today, I want to go to a concert on Thursday but am worried about the weather and if it will be called off/ i will be able to get there. I have to sign on this week and no doubt will get Hitler just be virtue of the fact that cos of the weather and other things I havent managed to apply for as many jobs as normal. There just isnt that many out there. I did apply for one at my old company and my CV was sent over to them Friday but was hoping to hear and start even on today.Havne't seen my OH since last May and all this Valentines stuff just reminds me of that even tho I am not sure if I am loved and we are not one of those typa couples. And my best friend B and her family moved to Melbourne last year and she chose to drop contact and I am very very worried about whether or not she is ok with all these fires.
Will try to keep my head up and bbl. Love and hugs to those who need it and try to stay safe and warm everyone. xxxWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
