    Morning all,

Snowed here Saturday apparently...we were in Cork city where they have had no snow at all....gather you are west Cork somewhere turfy? Roads were still icy this morning, ok if you take care but not pleasant. Not sure what is to happen to-night, no snow I hope.

Almo...would love to get my hands on some of the people who start these fires, I have relatives in Beechworth, Victoria and various places in NSW so have been very concerned that they are ok as well as feeling sorry for families who have lost people and property...lock them up and throw away the key would be too lenient in my opinion! Aussie's home should be fine as she is on Lamb Island near Brisbane so out of danger of fire and floods.

Penny Pincher...glad you are feeling better but would be worried about OH!!

Twink....missed the 'minus' on first reading and wondered why you were complaining, sorry!

Hugs to all I have missed and to all those in need or want

Hi :D Just having a break before I mop downstairs so thought I'd have a quick browse ;)Turfy6 I suffer with sinus problems so totally sympathise with you. If I get a cold I'm ok for a week or so then end up with an infection after feeling grot for a week ((((hugs)))).

Bunny Some of my baking has required scraping out of the tin but they still eat it. I always say 'no it's not how it was supposed to be but it tastes great' :rotfl: Good luck today!

    Hi all.

I've not posted for a bit, as I haven't been feeling up to it.

((((Almo)))) I had a quick look at DT, and frankly I'm glad it's not a forum I usually visit! I heard a short "interview" with a lady who'd lost literally everything except the clothes she stood up in in the fires this morning on the Classic FM news, and I could've cried.

Silvercharming, I hope your grandad's will gets sorted out soon. It can take such a long time - Mr LW's aunt died four years ago, and her will is still not all finalised. Problem is with the fact that she left part of her estate to her sister, who subsequently died, and that sister's solicitor is dragging his feet. Added to the fact that Auntie lived in Canada.

Still doing my best to be OS, not sure if I'm doing very well. I did find some pumpkin lurking in the freezer yesterday, so that's been turned into a pie.

I certainly don't want to venture outside in this snow; I have some fairly grippy footwear, but my sticks tend to slip on icy pavements, and I really, really do not want to end up flat on me backside in the cold and wet.

I hope everyone is keeping well and warm. ((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Morning all

Very wet here in Kent. Went on the motorway to Bluewater and the spray from the lorries was awful

Went into Lakeland while I was there and that's why I have come on here now for some advice :o We are all trying to lose some weight here and DS asked for some low fat yoghurts but not any 'with bits in'. Well that's easier said than done. Lakeland sell EasiYo stuff and I thought I had bought a yoghurt maker with some sachets to make low fat yoghurt. Just opened it up and found I have just bought sachets  I know a few of you on here make your own yoghurt, so can anyone suggest how I can use these yoghurt sachets until I get out again and buy the yoghurt maker? All suggestions would be gratefully received :D Next time I will read the box more carefully

What is the DT forums that Almo mentions please, anyone? Wracked my brain and can't think what DT stands for . How can people be so cruel about the poor people that have lost friends, families and their homes in those awful fires. I was listening on the radio about a man who had put his treasured photos into a safe that was supposedly fireproof. He opened it up and they were all destroyed. So the poor man has no home, possessions and not even a treasured picture of his loved ones to keep. So so sad.

Chrisca, 'DT' stands for Discussion Time, a sub-forum of the Moneysaving Arms. It's a bit of a bearpit. There's plenty of name calling, mud slinging and nasty comments on some of the threads, and for that reason I don't venutre on very often! But some of the people there are quite nice, I wouldn't want to necessarily put you off.

Morning, can't help you with the yoghurt question, but DT is discussion time and is a sub board of The Arms, which is right at the bottom of the list of boards, some nice posters on there, but some not nice ones too.

Well I have tidied and cleaned whole house, hoovered and mopped floors, done 2 loads of washing, which are on the airer and in the conservatory, have put the chops in the sc, peeled spuds, and prepped carrots, cauli and cabbage for tonight, also made 18 fairy cakes, and a sticky ginger cake, oh and done an online shop with mysupermarket.com, sainsbugs came out cheaper again :T .

Phew, gong to have a break now for a game of scrabble.

I was thinking earlier kalithicos (sp ) has not been on for a while, hope all is ok hun xx

Lamewolf nice to see you back xx

Twink, how cold  you take care xx

Hope Aussie and Beth are having good hols x

Marie, hope Luka is ok xx

Silver charming, hope it all gets sorted soon xx

    See you later x

    Afternoon all!

Kitchen s&s, pots washed, why did the kids miss the roasting pans yesterday! BM has done roll dough and that's in moski on second rising, now whipping up some pizza dough for dinner tonight. Yoghurt on the go. Hoovered and wiped off the mantelpiece - more facepack on there than there was on dds yesterday I think!

Lunch will be crumpets - cas, I'm going to be the size of a house if I don't stop with these, but thanks for the recipe! Kids have hm cheese rolls, cornflake cakes, peaches and raisins.

Dinner will be hm pizza and chips and a winter salad.

Need to get on with my painting, but the brushes have vanished! Guess it'll be back into ds's room for the second time this morning, not sure I'm that brave! Had to go in there to hunt for my screwdrivers, couldn't find them though, shame cos my mate was round and offered to put up the girls new light fitting! But being a lovely pal he's coming back tomorrow or Weds with his own screwdriver set lol! Actually I don't think he was brave enough to venture into ds's room and hunt either!

Chrisca - I make yoghurt just using a flask, wash the flask out with boiling water to warm it, add 1l UHT milk heated to body temp, or normal milk brought to boiling point and then cooled to body temp, 6-8 heaped tsp of powdered milk (depending on how set you like your yoghurt), small pot of live natural yoghurt (or about 5tbsp), give it a shake in the flask and leave overnight. You can mix/whisk the ingredients up before putting them in the flask if you want to follow the real instructions, but this just adds to the washing up in my opinion lol! I don't know about the yoghurt sachets, but personally I'd take them back! It's simple just to make with a flask.

Not read back properly yet, so hugs to all in need xx
