Orchid V4, V4+ Programing Tool Support

The V4 needs to be connected to the telephone socket (via an ADSL filter if you have ADSL) and the laptop to the V4 via either of the telephone sockets on its side.
When I program a V4 using my laptop, I hear the dial tone very faintly and hear the 'dialled' DTMF tones being sent, one by one (with a short break between each).
As each is being sent the V4's red LED lights and then fades to nothing during each short break. HTH.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

EDIT 15/4/10. I take the lack of reply to mean that the suggestion worked.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. How do you bypass the Orchid to use the BT line? I thought it was 121 but this doesnt give me a dial tone.. I have had it with BT charging me for number display, and have got to get better at making the odd call using my BT line.0

It is 121 - but as a prefix to whatever number you want to dial (i.e. not on its own, that'll do nothing).
However, to send a call via BT, you just use the 1280 prefix (assuming your CPS calls provider does not use WCLI).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Thanks Heinz, I thought 121 would give you a new dialtone.. I'll try both and hopefully they work.0 -
Hi, if anyone has a spare Orchid, I am looking to buy one0

Is anybody having problems with the quality of calls made through Primus recently?
When my Orchid dialler diverts my evening calls through Primus the quality of the call is so poor that virtually all my evening calls have to be cancelled.
I have no problem with incoming calls or making calls using BT (121 over-ride) or 0800 numbers.
If this is a typical problem then I'll have to go to back to BT as my CPS.
Wondered what other people's experiences are.0 -
If I decide to change my CPS back to BT (from Primus) will I have to modify the Lawry Orchid program? I'm thinking particularly of the new "evening" hours for BT now starting at 19.99 whereas i understand that primus still starts at 18.00.
If I do have to change the programme, I'd be grateful for guidelines on what needs to be done.
Thank you0
