    I'm happy with the concept, for those of us old enough to remember it is how the old acoustically coupled modems used to work - if I can find & modify suitable code to roll it in to the spreadsheet I will have a go but so far I have not found anything suitable that I can legitimately pass on for free. If you have some suitable code or can point me at a suitable web site I will try & do something with it.

    That works - our posts crossed - I like the simplicity of a single app, but as you say DTMF Encoder will do the job quite adequetly

    Some feedback which may help others should the same problem arise.

    I needed to change one rule only. I tried (and tried) but it wouldn't overwrite, and remained as previous.

    Eventually I tried deleting all rules and replacing them all (with the new rule amendment required), and this did the trick.

    I've tried to download table V1.4 but get a report "corrupted file" when I try to unzip.
    Am I missing something?
    If it IS OK then would someone on here be willing to email me a copy of the file unzipped?
    If so please PM me for an email address.
    Cheers

    I've just download and opened the zip file & it seems intact - you probably have a failed download trapped in your web browsers cache. Clear the cache & try again and you should be OK

    I cleared the cache and even rebooted the PC but still showing corrupted.:mad:
    I've PMd you my email address in the hope that you might email me an unzipped file:o
    Don't feel pressured or anything but it would help a lot if you did.

    Chhers for the reply.

    Having used the Lawry Excel program successfully for some time now I have just recently had what I hope is a minor problem when the program comes to the last of the entries (#28#). After dialling this #28 a Microsoft Virtual Basic window pops up with the following message:

    Run-time error '13'
    Type mismatch
    and with options to End, Debug or Help

    On clicking debug a further window pops up as follows:

    Sub sendRoutingCodes()
    Load formDialCarrier
    formDialCarrier.Show vbModeless
    For Each Routing In ThisWorkbook.Sheets("Config").[RoutingCode]
    'code to cope with abort or form closure
    If (formDialCarrier.togAbort = True) Then Exit For
    If (Routing <> "") Then
    Debug.Print Routing
    formDialCarrier.Status.Text = Routing
    formAdvanced.LabelStatus.Caption = Routing
    JustDial Routing
    Else
    Debug.Print "blank"
    End If
    Next

    with the command
    If (Routing <> "") Then
    highlighted in yellow.

    I have Googled this error and it seems that it is not an uncommon error in Excel macros. The possible cure from Microsoft is to install Excel updates. Having downloaded and installed these updates I still get the same error message.

    Has anybody else had this message and is it likely to cause a problem with the dialling rules? More to the point, can anyone suggest a solution?

    Thanks to all.

    I think I've just answered my own question. I re-downloaded the Lawry program, again re-configured jhe home telephone number nad the COM port, and then ran it again. This time it worked fine again without the run-time error message at the end.

    Presumably, I had somehow corrupted the Lawry program (although I had not delibrately modified any settings myself).

    Anyway, all now seems well again and sorry to have caused an unnecessary scare.
