From recent posts on this site I am now unsure whether or not the Kevin Lawry Excel program that I'm using quite happily is set up to ensure sufficient calls are made via BT to qualify for free Caller Display.
I use Primus as my CPS but I would like free Caller Display from BT.
to obtain free Caller Display do I need to modify the Lawry program and, if so, exactly what do I need to change (cells, values etc.)
I, perhaps misguidedly, thought that a previous message from Ugo regarding the insertion of a pause into route 3, was to do with this feature. but I am probably totally wrong.
Advice from you fellows would be much appreciated.
Thanks again0 -

No, you don't need to modify it in any way. Kevin used 'the Heinz program' (last updated 23 Jan 2009) and that routes weekend local, 01, 02, 03, 0845 & 0870 calls via BT (Carrier Code 3) - see Routing Rules 1, 2, 5, 6, 15 and 16 - specifically to ensure that, for most people, sufficient 'qualifying calls' are made automatically.
Hi Heinz,
Would I be right in saying that there was no difference between "The final (16-01-09) Orchid Heinz program" (not sure if this is my rename of your .xls file) and the the 'Heinz program' (last updated 23 Jan 2009) - just that Orchid took 7 days to release the new program?
If not please enlighten me!
Thanks Speedee0 -
Thanks a lot Heinz - that's good to know.0

IIRC, I completed the changes on 16-1-09 and asked Orchid to send it out as the 23-1-09 'final version' but there was a delay and Orchid only sent the email out on 26-1-09.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. First of all, a big thank you to Kevin for developing this new tool. :T When I found out that I could no longer use CWClient a few of weeks ago I wasn't sure what to do but now with this tool (and a copy of my routing table from Maggie at Orchid) it looks like there is a solid long term solution - at least while the V4 itself lasts!!
Now my questions...
First. There seems to be a problem with the tool in that it will only accept 8 Carrier Codes. The 9th does not generate a Programming Code (which was easy to fix) but the Routing Table then gives an "Invalid Carrier Code" error message when trying to put in Carrier 9. Is this a deliberate restriction in the tool?
Second. The reason for a new carrier code is so that I can add a couple of specific codes for calls to Oman. But does anyone know how I can distinguish between Oman landlines and mobiles?
Third. A related question. I currently have a carrier code setup for German mobiles which is used when the call type is "00491*5*7". What does this mean? Should I put in a similar code for the possible Oman mobile prefixes? Is there a more detailed programming manual for the V4?
Thanks

CW Client used to come up with a checksum error when a Carrier 9 was added - which was why only 8 Carriers were allowed. I expect Kevin can answer (or fix) the "Invalid Carrier Code" problem with his table though.

Sorry, haven't a clue.

Similarly to Routing Rule 1 (in which *2*9 means a number starting with anything between 2 and 9 will be routed), 00491*5*7 means a number starting with 004915, 004916 or 004917 (I assume German mobile numbers start with 15, 16 or 17).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Thanks Heinz
I'll try putting in the 9th carrier manually for now (the spreadsheet already makes it easy to see the code)

Germany - Heinz is correct re 15, 16, 17 according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mobile_phone_codes_by_country.
