The next charge to be introduced will be for electron card
As a special offer to Visa Electron card holders, Ryanair, for a limited period only, will not apply a Debit Card charge.
    Michael O'Leary wins all round

Not a chance, not until he finds another way to let people pay without incurring a charge. As said before, he has to include all non-optional charges in the headline fare, so either there must be one way to do it free or the fares he boasts about will appear higher. I personally don't see him choosing option B.

He could introduce that all people paying using epassport will not incur a charge. That would result in even less people being able to dodge the minefield and still allow him to advertise prices that are loss leaders only for the few and far between.
I would ask how this new thing of me not being able to use on-line check in because I am not an EU national, and no longer having a check in desk to go to, but I don't use RA anyway, my conscience won't allow me to.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I'm annoyed theyre removing the right to use my driving license when checking in...although I suppose it gets my bum in gear to get a replacement passport

As far as I could see, the online checkin charge only applies when checking in luggage

So it was possible all along to do this. When I queried this with them last year I was told that it was a U.K. government regulation and would have to pay to check in at the airport, but I could apply to have the charge refunded. Oh yeah, where have I heard that one before
