Try soaking affected area in a strong salt solution in cold water. If you have soaked in HOT water first, not sure this will work.Try 1tbsp. salt dissolved in hot water in a cup, then add to cold water in a bowl large enough to contain stained area, Soak overnight,if faded repeat process until stain gone. Not terribly moneysaving ..... but if you want to save it, Vanish OxyAction White is the way forward (and it's been on half price in Mr S's recently). Chuck four or five scoops in a bath with enough water to cover the duvet & leave to soak overnight. The stain might not have disappeared when you take it out the following morning but it should wash out if you then put it in the machine as normal. I've saved a couple of near disasters using this method - hope it helps you!

Am I the only one wondering how curry got onto a duvet cover?

I second the Vanish Oxi Action White- it is brilliant stuff.

Just to add a lighter touch. There's no chance of saving the curry. Sorry I read it that way at first.

I have M.E., and often eat in bed. :o It's the only way, some days, I can bring myself to spend time eating; knowing that I don't have to get out of bed to do so. :D

Anytime I'm eating in bed I worry I'm turning into John McCririck (sp?).

Anyone who watched the Wife Swap episode with him & Edwina Curry (haa haa, no joke intended) will know what I mean. :(

Thanks for your suggestions all - I shall spend a good part of today trying to save the duvet! The sun is now out so it can dry on the line too

you could stab him with a kitchen knife for being so clumsy, the blood will hide the curry stain. :)

Another vote for sunlight. Hubby's friend spilt a whole takeaway container of curry over my best light blue tablecloth, and a wash didn't remove the stain, but several hours on the washing line on a sunny day did.
