Well done Keren. It is good that you were able to log on here while at work. Keep thinking about those boots!

And well done to you flis21, have a lovely walk today, I hope the weather stays good for you.

    I have some good news, I have a job interview on Monday. :j :j :j :j

The job was advertised in the paper yesterday, it said to ring, so I did, and they asked me to send them my CV, so I emailed it to them, and they rang and asked me to come to an interview. The last couple of jobs I applied for I didn't even get an interview  I am looking for a part-time admin job, but I haven't worked for 5 years, so I haven't got any recent admin experience. I know if I don't get the job, I will feel really down again, so I had better take advantage of feeling this good over the weekend, and stick to the SW plan. Last night for dinner I had mashed potato cooked with leeks and cheese, with baked beans. yummy.

Congratulations on the job interview. I have one on Monday as well. I trained as a Nursery Nurse, but have been working in insurance for the last 4 years. Well I have now decided to go back to Nursery Nursing. So have applied for 3 jobs and got my first interview on Monday at 10.30. Really nervous, but excited at same time.

I noticed in my SW book (the older 2005 version as i don't have the new one - i go to RC classes) that 28g of brie is one B choice but 42g of camembert is also one B choice.

I always thought that these two cheeses (both of which i love, by the way) were basically the same on fat content and stuff. Is camembert more calcium rich? 28g of brie is 4.5 syns whereas the same amount of camembert is 4 syns incidentally so not much difference.

Either way i had 42g of camembert on toast last night and it was delicious so i really hope that this isn't an error!

Also, why are some of the cheesey 'B' choices not also cheesey 'A' choices?

    SW = mystery

PS As always - this applies to green days only

Wow - just browsing around and found this wonderful site! I've recently re-joined SW (4 weeks) and think it's a very good and easy way to lose weight. I tipped the scales at 12s before Xmas and - you know how it is - was going to diet after Xmas but didn't but then had a blood cholesteral check and that was it - signed up next class.

I think my leader is great - she doesn't clap everyone - just those who've acheived either 1/2 stone milestones or SofW which makes it much less of a chore to sit through.

Well done to all those who've lost and I'll keep looking in with interest.

Congratulations to all of you. Doubt I've lost anything this week, certainly not yesterday as we had a team lunch with LOTS of yummy puddings. Haven't eaten much since ...

Anyway, good luck to flis and sue, and if you search on the benefits and jobseeking board you'll find several interview threads which might help!

Thanks Savvy Sue, will look up the boards on interview techniques.

Is everyone on this board on Slimming World? Or are there any other diets going? I have just completed my second day on the Weight Watchers diet. Have quite enjoyed it and actually eaten more than I expected. Fingers crossed for weight loss next week.

I have spent quite a bit of time on the benefits and jobseeking board, and in fact have had several bits of useful advice given to me by YOURSELF (thank you). Probably see you on there over the weekend, as I get myself ready for the interview (I need to bone up on SAGE)

    Hi Gals and Guys
    Just checking in
What a lot has been going on.....I stopped work in October and can't now imagine going back...but....I might have to if we can't manage..BUT good luck on the interviews.
Todays project was to go through my food cupboards and as my directory SW is 2004 I used the website to do Syn checks on all of my tins and packets and stuck a sticker on them with the values. I will now feed all the not so good for green days/ not so healthy stuff to my skinny daughter and my husband or give it to the school tombola!! There isn't tooooo much of it. With the ok stuff I can now plan to use it up and plan my days around it. I hate to waste the food. One jar of LF cook in sauce was 29 syns OMG I used to use loads of it and buy the larger jar too. Next week I'll tackle the freezer.

I keep a daily diary of what I've eaten and paste new recipies that I've tried into it, then if I feel weak I look through the diary and decide to follow a particular days eating that went well. At the end of the day if I still feel weak I allow myself a 5 or 6 syn treat. This works for me at the moment. I have been eating well for 8 weeks now which is not very long .
Is there anyone on this thread who has dieted for a long time who has any tips for keeping it going? I have 89lbs still to lose and think I am looking at at least a year. At the moment I am feeling motivated and enjoying it but it was a bit sad to turn down the chance of a night out on Saturday but it was a bring and share pudding evening so I forced myself to imagine the puddings with the number of syns floating above them and my friends with nasty devilish faces trying to tempt me ...I decided I wouldn't go!!
I think I am going mad.................
