Sar Letter

Hello a little advice would be much appreciated. After 12 weeks of Barclays thoroughly messing me around regarding my Egg Credit Card claim they have told me they cannot trace my account despite me giving them the last 4 digits as indicated on my credit report and my old address when I applied for the card which was active until at least 2008. So now I need to obtain the full account number I guess with a SAR - but should I send this to Barclays or Egg?? And which address would be advised to be used?
Many thanks in advance!0 -
Do the Sar for Barclays and ask for all information they hold on you and not just the agreement, put as much info as you can to help them trace you.
Post this to your local branch of Barclays and head it
DSAR request FAO Manager
This should be looked at and passed to the department that deals with these.
Someone may post if they know the correct address.0 -
Hi, if anyone could help (or just put me out of my misery!) that would be great. I recently requested copies of my Egg loan and credit card agreements as I'm pretty sure I paid PPI on them, especially the loan. Both the loan and the credit card accounts are closed (7 years ago - aarghh!!) so I knew it might be difficult. I sent off postal orders to cover CCAs and a SAR, but they answered back saying because there is no longer a contractual relationship, they are under no obligation to send any details. They've returned the CCA money, but kept the SAR £10. Interestingly, they don't mention SAR, just the consumer credit act on both letters. I realise if it's over 6 years it can be more difficult, but surely they still have the details? If anyone has any advice, I'd be really grateful.0

Regarding the request for the original agreement, there is no obligation on the past lender to provide you this now the loan is paid off/account closed. That's why they have returned you the £1 fee.
As regards the £10 SAR, they will search their records and send you whatever information you requested and they still hold...which may not be much as this was 7 years ago.0 -
Thanks mate0

Not necessarily! When I sent off for my SAR I got back a copy of the original loan agreement, copy microfilm and a copy of a screen print with all the details and this for a loan taken out in 1999!! Chase them up for the SAR you may be suprised at what you get back.
Good luck

Thanks AMD. Was that with Egg that you got back all the old details? I got two letters, both which referenced the consumer credit act, and not the SAR. Should I wait the 40 days to see if Egg send me details? If they don't, what is my next step? I'm loath to use a claims management company. Thanks for all your help!0

Hi just about to send of my SAr letter to Sainsbury bank for a loan i cmpleted.
Few questions
Do i still sue the template in the opening post here?
Do i include a cover letter?
What other details should i provide?0 -
I used the letter from the link above

I requested all financial details held on me so I did not pin it down to one particular loan or service. That way they should send you everything they hold on you.
Hope this helps.
