Hi, just put HSBC, to answer your other question regarding Sar you could request bank account info as well as loans and credit cards I would think, if it is the same bank.

    Can anyone advise?

Husband took out a loan in 2005 with Alliance & Leicester, it was paid off before the end of 2006 (due to us coming into some inheritence) but we think we are entitled to a PPI reclaim.

Unfortunately I think I have shredded all relevant paperwork (I kept it for 5yrs) so we have no account number or anything. Obviously it is coming up to approximately 6 years since the account was closed so we would like to try and pursue a claim. Can anyone answer my following questions?

    1) Who do I send a SAR request to? I believe A&L are now Santander?
    2) Because we have no account number, and we now live at a different address what information do I need to include on the SAR letter?
    3) Anything else we should be aware of?

    Many thanks!

Give Santander a ring and see if they can find you first before you waste £10, let them know that this a A&L loan, if they cannot find you then do a Sar.
    http://www.santander.co.uk/csgs/Satellite?appID=abbey.internet.Abbeycom&c=Page&canal=CABBEYCOM&cid=1210607166846&empr=Abbeycom&leng=en_GB&pagename=Abbeycom%2FPage%2FWC_ACOM_TemplateA2

Sar request goes to Santander, put that the Sar is for a A&L loan and give all info you can regarding yourself and this loan, Dob, address etc.

Is this normal, I have just had a reply back from Sainsburys Bank regarding my SAR request, they state that:

Sainsbury Bank are not obliged to supply records held in paper form as they do not form part of a relevant filing system.

Surpose my records are held on a paper format, how do I gain access to it??

I sent a sar request to lloyds tsb a couple of months ago and only received copies of two loan agreements from my local bank, so I wrote and complained to them saying they haven't sent me everything I requested as I know I have had more loans and credit cards.I received a letter yesterday apologising and telling me they would send me more documents relating to another loan and my credit cards by the 28th may.

I then found out from my parents that they have sent a letter to their house which was details of a loan from 2000.
Thing is I haven't lived there for 11 years so why are they sending stuff there??

Lloyds really are an awful company to deal with
The thing they sent my is just a breakdown of the loan and not an actual
Copy of the agreement with no mention of ppi, but having calculated the payments I was making against the apr, it does look like there was some ppi on it, so I might get more back from them

I want to SAR HBOS PLC specifically to identify details of a old loan agreement which was sold onto another company around 2006.

I basically want to ensure, as Lloyds Banking group was not around then that they are not releasing data to Lloyds TSB about this account when I apply for a mortgage in the future.

Will a SAR identify what they have on their computer systems and is there anything I can do if it's identified that old accounts are still available over 6 years from when they were sold on to Max Recovery.

May be along the lines of data kept longer than necessary for anything other than the original purpose for which it was originally used for and not further processed and passed on to any third party like Lloyds TSB.

    Hi,

I can't seem to find a similar question so currently feeling like I'm the only one:

Originally I requested paperwork over the phone (for several loans). HSBC sent me one lot of paperwork out of around 8 account numbers and then lots of letters saying my original documents weren't in the archive boxes they had retrieved. This was the point I sent the SAR - that was 16th March, its now been 8 weeks and I've heard nothing. I sent it recorded delivery and it was received the following day

    What now?

Was your cheque cashed?, it is possible the info they gave you previously was all they had, especially if the other loans were from a long time ago.
Get back in touch with them and ask what is happening.

Do you know if PPI was on the 8 loans they gave you details for? if it was, then you should just make the claim and if any of these loans were consolidated, they may find the others.
