Morning all................(((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) if you need one.....
Not a long post this morning I am nipping out to the fabric warehouse and Aldi, before they day gets much older. The forecast is dire for tonigh/tomorrow, so need to get out whilst I can.
OH is still asleep.........will call back in later..........cheersWas 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
JackieO - glad you had a great birthday!
Churchmouse - I love !!!!!! Francis books too! My parents have an ever-disappearing collection due to me, but as I haven't been through their shelves recently, a 50p book it is! In reply to your query, it's "Enquiry".
The weather forecast for here has changed. Last night on the BBC website, today was supposed to be sunshine and a maximum temperature of a balmy 5 degrees, but this morning it's looking at light sleet and a max of 1 degree! The road outside our house is still covered in snow and it's all compacted so it actually resembles an ice rink! I shouldn't complain as it was only last year that I was moaning about not having a "proper winter".
I'm hoping that at some point next week I can do a "big shop". Since the demise of our freezer (it's now working again), we lost some meals and it would come in very handy now. On the plus side, at least I'm able to run down my storecupboard! Lunch will be beans on toast and supper a tuna/tomato pasta thing.
Have a good day all. :wave:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Morning Guys!
Hope evryone is well. I've had a rough night again and just can't seem to get warm.
WM & DW have both been on. Pork joint out for dinner. OH needs to prep the veg. We are having cabbage, carrots, roasties and sprouts.
I need help with a predicament we have....we have a wedding to go to next week. DD has a lovely dress but she has put it on this morning and although it fits perfectly, it is quite short. She is 5foot7 (size 10)and the dress is about 3 inches above her knees, but she will be wearing thick (60denier) teal colour tights. It does look lovely on her and she has all matching accessories....she looks about 17:eek:   and OH is having a fit as she has lumps and bumps in all the [STRIKE]right[/STRIKE] wrong places:D I think she looks very elegant and not slutty etc but its quite a well to do wedding and I dont want to offend anyone. BTW, if you were to talk to her, she talks like a 25yr old, so people wouldnt think....look at the state of that 14yr old tart:rotfl: I think OH will have a fit if any guy talks to her, but as I keep saying we were 13 when we met and DD has more common sense than we did:rolleyes:
Anyway.....answers on a postcard please.
OH is taking 3 doors off upstairs as I type and taking off all architrave for tomorrow. Upstairs must look like a bomb has gone off. Mate is coming at 8am to help OH and my nurse will be here about the same time.
Jackie0-Glad you had a nice day.
Nelski-Where are you hun? Missed ya.

Good morning all.
We had a nice lie in this morning. Sitting around with hot coffee and the championship footie highlights on tv. DH has walked the furchild and she's happily curled up with her blanket on the settee. Just a nice quiet Sunday morning.
I fell asleep on the settee around 5pm yesterday after our day out. Didn't wake up until 8pm! So our cod is on the menu for today. Fortunately it hadn't thawed completely yet so will be ok. Our very late tea was cheese, pepper, onion and mushroom toasties. mmmmmm Comfort food
I've also pulled a piece of pork shoulder for our tea today so will need to figure what to do with that now. I may just put it in the SC with some veg and we'll have that for tea tomorrow night.
The weather is calling for snow from the BBC and snow rain mix from weather.com. Neither of them seem to be very accurate. Often it's easier to just look at the window. :rotfl:
Off to make us a late brekkie now. I hope everyone has an enjoyable day. Take care, keep warm and be safe if travelling out today.
With warm thoughts and gentle hugs for all,
Peyton xxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

JackieO your birthday sounds wonderfull with your family and friends glad you had such a lovely day.
Hope wannabesybil is ok - there's no snakes here.

Morning all! :hello:
JackieO, glad you had a lovely birthday - you deserved it!
Mioliere, your OH sounds like mine! He sleeps soundly enough to wake the dead, but I am a light sleeper and he is clumsy. Demon combination. It's so hard to clear your head at night. Have you tried using lavendar?
Mhagster, my mum shovelled all of mine and my sister's mess into dustbin sacks once! She let us think they'd gone out for the binmen on rubbish day, she didn't let on that she'd hidden them until the weekend after, so we really suffered :rotfl: After that, the rule was, rooms must be tidy on Sunday mornings. Anything not put away then gets binned by Mummy dearest. I was shocked into keeping my room nice straight away, but my sister took a little longer to realise it was quicker and easier to be tidy in the first place. We used to have so much fun cleaning our rooms together on Sunday mornings though! So... that method's extreme, possibly a bit cruel, but VERY effective!
Leftover lamb for dinner, with roasties and the rest of the veg. Possibly some yorkie puds or stuffing to bulk things out if OH has been making himself midnight snacks again. I need to start Dave's homebrew beer kit, I daren't let him do it himself, he never follows the instructions  I also need to rejiggle my planting plans as I have ended up with more stuff to grow again.
Also, the rat I have been seeing scuttling about outside almost every day. I'm pretty sure he's living under the water butt as Mittens' Enemy is suddenly very interested in getting under there (Mittens himself has no feline instinct whatsoever). The question is, what do I do about him? TBH I'm a live-and-let-live kind of person and as long as he's not coming into the house is there really a problem? After all, rats need somewhere to live too and he's not harming me.0 -
Good morning all.I've been up about an hour but have been drying all the windows down as we had such a hard frost last night the windows were covered in condensation this morning.
OH is still asleep.Sunday is his only lie in he gets,so I'll let him sleep another half hour.
Nothing much to do today.Just lunch and lazing.Oh I do love Sunday's.
Have a good day everyone
I hope it's not too cold wherever you are.
Take care..........0 -

Morning all,
Very cold here again, but no snow, although the sky looks full of it, will have to get little dog out early today incase it does come down.
Last night we had smoked salmon, and I made smoked salmon mousse, prawns and crab terrine, it was delish and there is enough left for today :T , so we will put the pork chops we were having off till tomorrow, so a nice easy lunch for today.
OH has been out to the car boot sale this morning, and has just got back, he is going to make us a late breakfast, scrambled eggs and bacon I think.
I had to buy my dd a new school skirt a couple of weeks ago as the zip had gone, I had only had it a while but had lost the reciept, so bought a new one, I washed the new one friday, and the zip has gone on this one too  I would not mind but the school insist that the girls only wear one style of skirt from one shop which costs £20, so we took it back yesterday and they did not have her size, they will order one in, now I have completly NO sewing skills at all, so I will have to get my OH to try and mend it today, he does all the mending jobs here.
N9eav, that poor dog, I do hope he was ok.
Jackie glad you had a good day x
Tired mum, I hope you feel better soon x
Pen Pin, I have the same problem with my dd, she is 14, but would pass for 18, she is very tall with bumps as well, we recently went to a party, where people were offering her drinks  , and could not believe it when I told them her age. I think as long as your dd does not look tarty, but elegant the dress will be fine, I always tend to keep my dd close to me on occasions like this
mhagster lol at your untidy 12 yr old, does she get pocket money ? my dd gets an allowance, but only if her room is kept tidy, dont get me wrong its never a palace but it only took me holding back the money once for her to get her act together, it is now reasonably tidy most days.
Well I seem to have wittered on forever today
Have good days all, and keep warm xx0 -
Morning all
Chilly here in Kent still. DH was out in it for hours yesterday doing something to his car, wheel bearings, I think. He was frozen when he came in but it would have cost a fortune in a garage and he wouldn't give them the satisifaction of giving them the moneyHe had to get it done because he has a lot of travelling to do next week.
Nice piece of turkey in the oven for dinner that was frozen from a reduced piece bought on Christmas Eve. Have BM on with cheese and bacon loaf in, that will smell delicious around about an hour after we will have had dinner so will probably feel hungry again then
Salopman yes I have become addicted to twitter too. I won't join you to mine as I don't actually use it, I just follow a few celebs that I have joined to mine, so don't take offenceMy favourite is Stephen Fry, he's hilarious on there as much as he is when you see him on the tele. The things he says look funnier written down sometimes too.
Keep warm everyone. It's still going to be cold here in Kent for a few more days but, fingers crossed, no more of the white stuff for us.
Have a good day all.0
