  • The end of the month update

The end of the month and it has been eventful!!

~ It has taken me 3 weeks to pretty much get my voice back! Seems to be the viral infection I had is doing the rounds and lots of people are coming down with it or something similar. :(

~ The speedway season has started and will no doubt be travelling loads in the next few months again. :j:j

~ I have had a few babysitting jobs last weekend and early this week so extra money! :T

~ I recieved £30 back from the Road tax on my old car :T

~ Started my college course last night - An Introduction to Digital Photography - I had my little point and shoot Casio camera (Which I love BTW) and felt a little silly, as all bar me and 1 other had an SLR or bridge camera.
I have been looking into getting an SLR camera and I think now it would be beificial to buy one even although they cost a bit of money it will definately be used. I only need to find the one I like now!! :D

Possibly this one or with an offer here
    or

Possibly this one or again with an offer here

There are a few more but these are the ones that jumped out at me!

    Hi there,

I've not been around much these days - but anytime you guys want to come over - you're welcome. Or if you want to meet halfway agin that's fine - or as I had to get a new shiny car too I can pop over the water too. As my last car had the exhaust in the boot for the last week of its life & I sounded like a real cool boyracer I tried not to drive in built up areas - but me new car is of so quiet......

    Hi there,

1st May sounds fine to me - I'll catch up with you later about this though.

Car is a 6 yr old Toyota Yaris. I was looking for reliable & economical & after speaking to garage & uncle who's a mechanic I settled on this. I drive at least 1000 miles a month for work alone so economical was important too.
It's not as vroomy as ye old Mazda but it does what it says on the tin. It's a nippy wee car and as I've not had a small car before I'm amazed at the parking spaces I can get into - I might even start practising parallel parking again.... I've worked out that this car will save me £15 a week in petrol and added up over the year that'll mean that approx 2.5 weeks of wages have been freed up. Sad way to work it out but it works for me.

And I know what you mean about the stalling - I've only managed this once but the car is so quiet I thought I was stalling at every junction for about a week

How's your car? Are you still having fun with it - I must admit that if I was buying a brand new car it would have been on the possibilities list, but sadly I was so in love with the Fiat 500 I think a new one would have been one of them. When I saw the price I realised it was second hand for me though :D

Anyways - must get coffee now - Have a good Saturday

Been a while so thought I'd better update!! :)

The past month has been eventful to say the least.

~ I have been on holiday this week and its been pretty chilled!

~ I went out on Monday and bought an DSLR camera for my college course - A Canon 450D and it is great only problem was the price tag (£499):eek: I managed to pull money from several accounts and payed for it instead of my Pink friend Mastercard :D

~ I have run up a bit of money on my Pink friend so need to clear that before the 0% runs out in October (about £650) should manage that aslong as I put my Pink friend somewhere safe and not in my purse!! :o

~ I am taking part in the Great Scottish walk on 6th June for The British Heart foundation, The Red Cross and St Columba's Hospice. It is a 12 mile walk and I have been building up my miles of walking and managed to injure my knee on Tuesday - feeling better now which is good as I need to keep walking!!

    FINALLY
I have hopefully only got 2 weeks to go until I become an Auntie for the 1st time!! :j:j

It has taken me since Friday to calm down and post again.

I have incurred a £15 bank charge :mad: through no fault of my own.

When I got my new car I got a years free RAC cover so when my AA renewal letter dropped through the door I phoned the AA and suspended my account (or so I thought)

I checked my online banking Friday and was shocked to see a letter in beside my statements about the bank charge (bet you can all see whats coming!!)

The AA had tried to take £108 from my account  (would not have paid that if I had stayed with them!) and as that particular account does not have much in it anymore it was refused and I was given the £15 charge. I was so angry as I thought it had been suspended.

I called the number on my old AA card and followed the automated rigmarole to then get a message saying that all lines were busy and to try again later :mad: So I phoned the cancellation department! The girl there said I was through to the wrong department and she gave me the number to call to get the department who would deal with my problem.

The guy who dealt with me was thankfully very nice and found the inital cancellation call and asked to call me back after he had listened to it. True to his word he called back within a couple of minutes and said although I had been told by the girl I spoke to initially my membership had been suspended, she had not actually done it!:eek: He suspended the account and asked for a copy of the letter from the bank and he would see about getting payment to cover the bank charge. I explained to him our printer is currently broken (which it is) and asked if there was anyway of emailling the letter. He gave me an email address and a reference number and I sent the letter to him via email. Got a automated reply yesterday and now I have to wait and see if I get my £15 to pay for my bank charge!!

I will keep you posted!! :D
