My benefit was messed up and for a month we have been £35 a week short...so it's not a good time for us to re-stock. Sods law. I wish they'd get it sorted... Also we're with the RBS , thank goodness they seem fixed, but I wonder if they will have a wee "holiday" until things get re-organized?

Well, they only had 15 tins... The stock control at our local store is pants - they have empty shelves everywhere. I can't imagine what it will be like when the transport/banking system collapses. On a mission.0 -
We often have the same problem re empty shelves, in Tesco and Sainsburys.
Hence, me becoming a squirrel!
MIL is even worse then me and she's on her own.

I read Nella Last's War ages ago and then recently got it on ebay, I never ever knew there was a Peace book as well. I am not into cooking but I did like her a lot , she was a good lady.0

With the amount of stockpiling we are doing, supermarket shares must be at a record high! I remember during the last big recession, when house building had ground to a complete standstill, the only new properties being built in the London area were out of town shopping centres and Mr T's new stores.0

Oh well....if all else fails...its back to barter. At least we understand that. Derivatives....oooh my head hurts...
At least we have LETS there already.......so there is a barter scheme there ready for an inrush of new members if its needed...

Inspired by this stocking-up thread I thought I would do an online shop and try to cram some more food in my store. It's getting like Alice in Wonderland in Tesco. A tin of Napolina tomatoes is now only 2p less than a pound of pork sausage meat. I ordered the sausagemeat. I made pork and herb 'burgers' from it last time and they were tasty. Freeze well, too. I just mixed in a few herbs and shaped them in flour. I think I got six per lb/£1 but we've eaten the evidence, so can't check0 -
