I thought perhaps because this brand had larger chunks than they'd been used to. They tried to eat some and it was left spat out on the floor. Not like my dogs at all.
Later that day they were both ill

Are you really sure it was the food? Dogs don't suffer from the same problems as humans when eating food that we consider 'off'. Their digestive system is different.

I totally agree with what Jasper, dorry,Brila and Nitha have said..and there but for the grace of god go I..if this had hit 3 years ago before I found this site that would be us suffering too
Totally! Me too. I owed a gobsmacking amount, and started reading the motley fool boards - finally all paid off last year, and I can't begin to put into the words the peace of mind it gives me. So grateful I am able to face this turmoil a little more secure, not just for myself but for my family and those close to me who I may be able to help now. And I love seeing peoples' DWD signatures decreasing too!On a mission.0 -
I would rather be overcaution and end up having to pass on perishables to my mother or have a bake-fest to use them all up than get caught short/go without if things do go tits up.
Me too,I've always had the mickey taken when people see my store cupboards and do I care not one bit.
On the other hand it's amazing when the same people run out or need a little bit of this or that it's always me that they ring up and ask.
My store cupboard is my "security blanket" realy,I know if I'm short or have an unexpected problem with cash I'll have food for a few weeks at least.0 -
Yep - got that storecupboard "security blanket" - my food cupboards probably look a lot like my grandmothers now (from what my mother tells me) - ie a Wartime Store.
I keep reminding myself at a personal level that Society, as we know it, would have to virtually stop working totally before my "security got breached" - as I've planned and worked and done yet more planning and working to get into a secure financial situation since the 1970s (theres got to be some advantages to having a bit of an "aging hippy" mindset you know:D - I've never trusted that things will carry on indefinitely in the way we regard as normal) - so I've certainly not taken the attitude "oh well - life does what it will and I'll just roll with it". But am still nervous about whether I've done enough/is it possible to do enough to protect oneself against this Perfect Storm going on - if you hear a mystery explosion at some point its okay just turn over and go back to sleep thinking "That must be ceridwen losing her temper big time - as shes found she hasnt done enough and has just taken a major hit";)
I remind myself of Aril's quote that she just put on my Simplifying Life thread to the effect of things not being what they seem - and that this might all be the "birth pangs" of a better society - well..fingers crossed that that is what this all is.
(I was only thinking earlier today "Well I know I've been planning towards major disruption to Society since the 1970s - as thats when I decided to deal with the possibility of unwanted pregnancy once and for all - just in case Society changed and the Pill/legal abortion were no longer available." That decision alone has helped greatly on the peace of mind stakes.). A couple of hundred £s expended back then on getting sterilised increased my "security" by a massive amount (Marie Stopes is on my "thank goodness they were born list"). Though these safeguards have always been available whilst I needed them - I'm still glad I did that for the sake of that much calmer mind than I would otherwise have had.0 -

Ah...see it looks like I can safely give a direct link to the You Tube clip:

(lots of other interesting viewing on that "page" - including the film "End of suburbia").0 -
EDITED - dual post - I'll be glad when M.S.E. fixes the problem thats causing at least some of us to keep getting logged out virtually as soon as we've logged in. HINT!0

Oh dorry, I am jealous too, I would love a pantry! My nan had a fab huge old pantry, I can remember sneaking in there to help myself to dripping from the big bowl!
Well I dreamt about stockpiling last night, and repelling boarders with pea shooters! Not sure what that says about my state of mind! Anyway I have to make a meal plan today and therefore a shopping list, so will be adding on the extra flour and tinned goods I need - sometimes I wonder what we do with all the beans and toms!
Will pick up the papers as well and see what gloom they forecast, oh how I would love to read some nice happy news!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
