Well.. did we just install our coal fire...
our CH is still here ofcourse as well..
it is set to warm up the house early morning so we don't wake up freezing..
but we had noticed a definate chill these past few days in the mornings and DH asked me if I had switched the whole thing off altogether as I am now running the coal fire in the evenings when it gets chilly.
I had not..
turns out... the cable that runs from the thermostat (in the living room) to the CH unit (in the shed-built onto the house) is well and truly dead...
sigh..
boy did we time the installation of the coal fire!!! I'd be freezing my hiney off otherwise!
DH is now working out a way to fix it. But there's no rush. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
The coal keeps me lovely and cozy.0 -

DD17 had been complaining it was cold so he told her to put some clothes on - she is wearing just a strappy vest :rotfl:
It's not so easy as we are both at home all day so no chance of getting warmed up at work...it is cheating a bit though as we have an Aga so there is some warmth here at all times..New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . I've hoarded so much over the last couple of months, that we may have to move out soon.
There's cans and packets and boxes and cartons gradually overtaking the house!

I know what you mean,my garden shed has now become the place I store my cans.I also keep my fresh veg and potatoes in there, they do keep a lot longer.
I have stuff, literally stuffed in every cupboard and even under the bed.
I dare'nt buy anything else or my house will start to look like something off Kim and Aggies programme.0 -

I am stocking up too, but what gets me is other people who say to me "oh I've run out of ****" and think they can have mine because I have made the effort to stock up and they feel that I should give them some because I have plenty!!!0

Just a little reminder to keep a torch upstairs by your bedside. We had a little powercut last night and had to struggle downstairs in the dark to get the torch that I had left downstairs!:o At least I managed to find it as I always keep it in the same place. I am now keeping the wind up torch/radio by my bed. I have send Mr C out to see if he can get some of Lidls wind up torches (£3.99) as they will make great presents. fingers crossed! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
