    hi all

wasnt sure if it had been posted in here yet but wilkinsons have some fingerless gloves that go right up your arm to your elbow and they are knitted and very warm. I got a pair in black today but think they were in red, pink or white too and they only cost £2

Just got DH to run me to Tesco hoping to get some of the Supercook dried egg which was supposed to be reduced. Thought it would be really useful to have in the cupboard in case of shortages, strikes etc - but there were none left!!!

Did manage to get three 2 kilo bags of Natco red lentils though- some special offer Pilgrims choice cheese, 15 eggs, two of the 2 litre bottles of milk (special price) and some yellow stickered herby salmon fillets, chicken breasts and turkey mince to make meatballs tomorrow.:j

Made DH lunch in the Remoska - bacon. egg and tomato which really impressed him!!!! Managed to tell him yet again how much cheaper it is than having the grill on!;)

Had hoped that by now we would have sold house and moved to somewhere easier to heat with a garage for preps, cans of food, dried stuff etc but it is probably just as well we are not selling and buying at the moment.

I keep telling myself that the longer we take to sell, the more the price on the house we want is dropping and becoming more affordable.

DH keeps telling me solemmly that things will get tough - I try not to tell him I have thought this for ages and just agree!

:p Now I'm dead jealous of all you ladies who have access to powdered eggs :rotfl: I've been trying to get some for aaages but my Tesco's doesn't stock it.
I'm trying to encourge the boys to eat something from our stores each week that they haven't tried before to vary their diets a little and so I don't have a windfarm to contend with if they start having to eat from my beans stockpile :rotfl:

Don't know what would be worse in that instance, the beans or the powdered eggs!

No powdered eggs in our local Sainsburys, never seen them in our Tescos but have not specifically looked for them.

    Tip:- don't stand down wind!

I had a container of powdered eggs once and tbh hated using it. I kept thinking of the battery hens. Never bought it since then

An older generation used to write with disgust abut powdered eggs and wish they had fresh ones. We are doing the opposite ! LOL
  • Okaaay....spiders - I hear you, moths and the dark - I hear you.......but cows? Cows?? Thats a new one on me!!

They are so cute..all warm and muzzy, with huge dark eyes. Sorry, mardatha, but thats like saying you are scared of fluffy kittens!!

I am terrified of cows. Not bothered at all by spiders. Cows can kill you you know. There was a woman killed by one not far from us last year.

I remember walking on the Tissington trail a few years ago and a farmer decided to move 2 fields full of cows across the trail. I stood for an hour, I certainly wasn't going to go anywhere near them. Anyway they micht be bullocks.

It gives me the shivers thinking about cows. The only thing they are good for is Sunday dinner.

hang onto your pasta and flour girls. The world markets are absolutely bombing, time to get hunkered down and not spend any money. Get the catapults and paper balls ready to repel store cupboard looters

I've got two loaded water pistols that can fire about 20 feet that'll keep them off.

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We use them to chase the squirrels away from the bird's fatballs which are hanging in a holder on a bush outside.

Before we bought the metal holder, the squirrels used to steal the whole fatball!
