I see there are other folk about with churning stomachs. Good luck, I hope all goes well for you

I have got the collywobbles today re our savings in icesave. They are what I had planned for us to live on plus my diddy pension, for the next 4 years. Stomach churning alright but I keep saying to myself that `its only money` easier said than done though

It hits home that the crisis is affecting each and every one of us in different ways

oh well, at least I am well stocked up with flour

Just wanted to say a bypass is a highly successful op to have, I wish my husband had got one. He had 3 heart attacks, the last one serious, & 3 lots of stents, and now the angina is back --- he is lying on the couch right now feeling sick and with a tight chest. If I make a move to call the doc he goes off in a temper, so I dono what to do for the best, don't want to trigger anything off do I ..
Is like going to the dentist v having toothache, best get it done and sorted, Please tell your hubby this if you think it will help. x

Thanks mardatha, OH has gone back to work today, and says that he hasn't any chest pain since he started on all the medication but that could also be due to the fact that he doesn't have to walk uphill now as I take him to work every day. The consultant said that the artery with 3 different branches with narrowings are not suitable for bypass or stents but the narrowing in the other artery probably will be, just waiting for a letter this week saying what he has decided.

So sorry to hear about your husband, why are they so stubborn? You must be worried sick. Has he got one of those sprays? Doctor told OH if he has tight chest to rest and use the spray, it is all so new to us. At least his cholestorol came back at 3.6, they were very surprised and decided that his angina must be due to genetics rather than life style, OH doesn't smoke or drink.

Still not heard anything about the car. I am spending as little as possible, holding off with starting Christmas shopping, although I had to buy a coat as my old one was so old and threadbare, it fell apart. But went for a cheapie one. (yes I only have one coat that fits me :D ) the other one I have is too small.

Ailbobsy, hope the job comes through for your OH. It is scary and who says that you have to spend a fortune at Christmas, lots of ideas on these threads for homemade, thoughtful presents.

Kittie - snap! I have flour so we will eat bread!

thanks for all your good wishes and thoughts, I feel a bit more positive today, I am getting prepared for DD going in for surgery, can't change anything about the car situation, still paranoid about driving the courtesy car and a bit nervous driving when I see a lorry. I have been driving for 25 years and after the crash I now feel insecure, see even more idiots taking chances on the road, not using indicators, sloppy and dangerous driving.

Mumoftwo - just wanted to send (((hugs))) to you and your DH, we have been through it all too with DH ending up with a triple bypass 4 years ago. He is now completely recovered(aged 46)
They can do amazing things nowadays and recovery is much quicker.

Phew what a day! OH and I both have Icesave accounts and are just having to sit tight. I hate having to wait and see- I'm a doer and like to be able to get on and get things sorted. Ah well I guess I'm just going to have to sit on my hands and not panic...that's certainly not going to affect the outcome of all this. As others have said I have flour so perhaps will just spend my time making cakes instead as a distraction this evening:rotfl: :rotfl:

the whole situation has really become scary but taking a load of cash out will give burglers a field day. I am so grateful that I have stocked up my cupboards so well. My dh mentioned buying some socks today and I just thought `no way` but I wasn`t going to give him sleepless nights as he would worry if I was too worried.

Its amazing how suddenly I have done no spending whatsoever and have no inclination to spend anything. Last week I thought nothing of getting flannelette duvet covers and a new cycle helmet and today, keeping the heating off has a whole new purpose ie surviving

here is me being prudent nearly all my life and this thing with icesave happens. No where feels safe for instant money just now

Hi Kittie, all of our savings are with Icesave as well (not very much, but it's all that we've got) and I was waiting for a £300 transfer out to prop up my current account having made my guilt ridden Kenwood Chef purchase last month.

I'm so glad we have full cupboards including enough soya beans to make soya milk for four months or so, two freezers that are jam packed and a stock of apples off the tree as we now have no money for food as I've got a hole in the bank account to plug.

<<<Hugs>>> to all that need them.
