Mumoftwo --I suppose it depends a bit on where you live-- my OH went into Edinburgh Royal. They take them through for the angiogram, he is conscious and can watch it on the screen -( they go in through the wrist with a tiny camera), If he gets taken in the morning they will let him out at night. If he goes in the pm then he might stay overnight. It's totally painless. If they find a narrowing of the artery they will put stents in there & then. He cant drive for a week and is advised to take a week off work...and to be careful of the wound in the wrist not to strain it as it's an artery. The whole procedure takes 45 mins..and if they dont find any narrowing then they just close it up and throw him out .0

He already had the angiogram last Thursday (the day after the crash) through the wrist. He was off work on Friday and off tomorrow because of bank holiday. They found narrowing in his arteries, his cholesterol is 3.7 so very healthy, they decided it was a genetic thing as his dad had Angina as well. Because he has several narrowings, the consultant wants to discuss options with collegues and will write to us this week what he is planning to do, ie angioplasty. OH is on 4 different kinds of medication which is a bit of a shock. He does do a lot of heavy lifting at work, but his wrist is not bothering him too much so we will see how it goes.
If they are doing an angioplasty will they go through the same spot on his wrist and open it all up again?0 -

Hi Mumoftwo no they will go through the groin next time I think. My OH has had this 3 times and they have told him they cant do it again, he needs a bypass. But they can put up to 3 stents put in at one time I think. My hubby was totally ok for 4 years after the first time. x0

there are some lovely little things to knit in simply knitting this month. Decorations, christmas stocking, santa, playmat, man socks. A lovely short top for a young woman
these are cheerful things to make and could lighten the christmas load. There is also a knitted little container, like a pudding, which could be made to hold eg wrapped hm fudge
next month there are gingerbread men finger puppets
looks like christmas will be more os and traditional in many households this year. I hope so0 -
Mumoftwo, I just want to say the same as daisymac. There are plenty of ears (eyes) to listen (read?) on here if you need a vent.
Those sound really nice Kittie! Shame I can only knit squares at best.0 -
Thanks for all your support, my lovely virtual friends :T
Upwards and onwards, there are people who are so much worse off than us, at least we are not in a lot of debt and like to keep it that way.
Doesn't mean you're not allowed to be upset though... You're having a hell of a time and I wish there was something I could do!
Hang in there darling sis... you are the best, and you'll cope one way or the other.
Love you lots anyways.0
