I must be having a middle aged moment, why when people post on the forum do they put w*rk instead of work ?, I have seen it quite a few times now.
I have become a bit obessed with my use of electric, I got one of the electricity monitoring thingeys from Southern Electric and I started to use it yesterday, I spent most of the evening turning on and off various applicances and lights to see the difference it make, basically it seems to cost about £1 a month for every light, put the tumbe drier on and it goes to £250 per month !, obviously I am not going to have my tumble drier on for a whole month but it does make you think doesnt it.0 -

... I like to think I help by having WW style shallow baths on 'in between' days. :rotfl: saying that my sister has a full bath of chuffing boiling water everyday, so hers cancels mine out.I do this too, but the offspring are like your sister!
Here's a question! I've just had a delivery at w*rk, massive box for a small box so I've got loads of those air pillows, any idea what I can use them for? other than to roll up into a pillow and use to snooze under my desk.
I like your idea Cinnybut you might find your boss a little more favourable to you using the pillows at the bottom of plant pots to provide drainage
OR maybe to make a little draught excluder, dependant on how many there are of course.
All this talk of stock-piling etc, makes me think of me muvva...she lives independantly & is very independant! She does rely on me to take her around places & we've talked about the amount of grocery shopping she buys, mainly because she lives on the top floor of a three storey block of flats without a lift  The offspring are very good about helping with various things & she knows she only has to phone across at ANY time & one of us will be there in a matter of minutes. BUT! by her having a generous store-cupboard, she wouldn't have to ask for anything much at all so will retain a certain degree of that independance that means so much to her.
I think another poster has said on here before, that someone could be housebound for any number of reasons--we had a particularly scary week when all three offspring were restricted to a radius of six inches from the two bathrooms so I had to go to a neighbours house to use their loo& with them being between 8 & 11 years old I couldn't go shopping either. I can tell you, I was never so thankful of having a good store cupboard as I was then [although I did try to avoid the baked beans for obvious reasons

This has probably been posted before (apologies if repetition) but if anyone hasn't seen it, it is a really good website for monitoring your gas and electricity use. Basically you enter the details of your suppliers and then your weekly reading, and you can see whether your energy consumption has increased or decreased, and how much you have spent that week. HTH

If it gets much tougher than I will hibernate that might save some money and I might loose a few pounds :rotfl:
Not sure I can cut back much more.
