.......Work have sorted out my holiday entitlement and it appears I need to take 4 weeks off before April - it does my head in trying to work it out as I am now relief and the rules are different for me - so the unpaid leave I took over xmas could have been paid for. However it will be a break, much needed the way I am feeling at the moment.......

You've got 51 days to take 20 days off.......sounds like the sort of challenge I like ;)

Is there any chance that they would pay you for the time you took at Christmas, and you take the balance as leave? Then you are doing them a favour by not vanishing for 40% of the next 2 months, having some extra cash and still getting a break.

Morning. Bit of a slow start? It's colder than a witches tit here.

Mine are quite warm thanks.:p :rotfl:

Afternoon all. Not very cold here. We had a bit of a light dusting overnight but didn't wake up to the same sorta scenes as Monday. It is what i call wet snow and kinda melting. Surprisingly we had tremendously loud thunder overnight which I managed to sleep through. I guess once I finally DO get to sleep with the flatmates snoring ( I swear it is like flatsharing with Pumba from the Lion King!!) nothing wakes me until flatmate gets up for work at 5. No wonder I am always tired. I think I must get about 4 hrs sleep a night as we dont go to our beds til midnight.

Applied for the job at my old company today. I went in to speak to my consultant at Reed about it - he said he didn't know if I would be interested and happy to go back there so I put him straight.

I actually do think I am going nuts - found myself singing like a scene from one of my fave films - "Grumpy Old Men" - they live in a very cold snowy area of America and one day the adorable Walter Matthau goes round singing "we're having a heatwave, a tropical heatwave" and I have caught myself singing this while going round the shops today LOL:rotfl: :rotfl: . (Think I might have a double bill of those films later)

Kids appear to be skiving off school again today tho the only really "bad" day we had here in West London was Monday... Sainsburys was full of em :(

Haven't read the thread yet - am about to with my cuppa :coffee:. No doubt be back later ... hope everyone is safe and warm and well xxx

EDIT read it now - Halight Good luck with the interview. Hope you did as well as you seemed to.

Bargainbird lovely pics . Thanks for sharing.. Spikes a real cutie ;)

I'm off to have a go at French Knitting now. My set finally arrived from ebay. I have some black wool and I am hoping to make a nice scarf for my monkey mascot I take to the footy. If anyone knows any sites that are very easy to follow can you let me know? I am not sure if there are any instructions included with the dolly.

OMG I have just read the local news. We have no road salt left and our town council have pleaded to other councils who have plenty of salt to release some to us, they have apparently refused.

Whatever happened to the blitz spirit when people shared what they had to keep the whole country going. We don't even have enough left to salt the M5 so if that is blocked it is going to affect much more than Gloucestershire.

On a nice note a woman went into labour in the middle of a huge pile up on the motorway this morning. The paramedics picked up a GP on the way to her as they thought she would be delivering in her car but they have got her out and into hospital to deliver her baby. That was almost - place of birth - middle of the M5 :D

Thanks for that Pippa. He really is a changed lad compared to this time last week :T I know that we'll more than likely have a showdown over something sooner or later but I think (know) that clear rules & boundries & affection are working. It's what I've always done for my 3. DH went to talk to his parents  the other night and the basic upshot was that they couldn't live with him, didn't like him & 'his attitude to us stinks'   I wonder why? It really did seem to be all about them. Some folk eh? I've got a full diary next week with various people coming to see us, youth worker, young offending team worker etc I've already spoken to them & even a youth worker with 25yrs exp hasn't seen anything like it:eek:
