Reverbe - sorry can't help with your French knitting. I remember doing some many years ago - it was with a cotton reel with four nails banged into it - but can't recall the method.0

Sybil - I'll miss your chatty daily posts they always take me back to when my 3 were little
I can always lend you a 4 year old. We're probably closer than you think
No OS whatsoever today other than the ironing. I did manage to do the ironing in peace though, by running a bath and popping the aforementioned 4 year old in it. He loved the novelty of having a bath in the afternoon.
We went shoe shopping for someone who had wrecked their proper shoes this morning (now who could that be?), and had burgers out for lunch. I hate fast food, but it's a good place to start little people on the correct approach to eating in unknown company. At least the coffee is better now than it used to be.
I have been knitting this evening. I have something on my mind, and knitting always seems to help.
Reverbe for you......http://www.how-to-knit-guide.com/french-knitting.html
Take care all of you0 -
Hello everyone - hope you've had a good day!
It's a late post, but better late than never
I went back to work today and the consensus was that I should still have been off  I could give Rod Stewart a run for his money in the gravelly voice stakes! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Had a busy day, but I was glad that I went in.
Couldn't be bothered cooking tea when I came home, so just as well that I'd picked up some bits and pieces in the RTC section. Not OS, but I was tired, cranky and just wanted to get home and eat something quick. Tomorrow will be better, I promise.
I've just spent the last 20 minutes on the phone to my sister, trying to help find friends of ours who are travelling up from Wales for the Six Nations Game against Scotland this weekend. Their flight from Bristol was cancelled this evening and when they got back to their car, it was under half a foot of snow  So, they've jumped on a train and are heading to Manchester tonight. Two single train tickets from Manchester to Glasgow will set them back around £75 each. Just heard back from them and thankfully they've got travel insurance. Hopefully they'll make it up in time to see the game on Sunday
Right, now I'm going to read the rest of the thread and catch up with your days!Enjoy what's left of the evening.

Hello all,
I've not had a chance to read yesterday's or today's thread yet.Just finished Wednesday's and too tired to go any further with the reading tonight.
DH was off work yesterday and we had a nice lie in. Slept almost til 10am which is very late for us both. Then out and about to get a few things we needed, a lovely play in the park with Bree pup.
Today I cleaned the flat from top to bottom except the hoovering. I'll do that in the morning. Made spaghetti bol for tea tonight and that luscious choc fudge pudding cake for afters. Mmmmm
I made a loaf and a batch of oatmeal, raisin and cranberry cookies for the biscuit jar. Picked up some frozen veg and more eggs today. It wasn't too bad out today and even had some nice sunshine for a while. Very cold tho tonight and I'm looking forward to climbing into the bed that has been warming up with the hot water bottles.
Will try to catch up tomorrow with what all is happening. Have a good rest of the night.
Lots of gentle ((((((((hugs)))))))) to all,
Peyton xxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

Good evening one and all!
Halight - glad things went well today - time to cross fingers now!
MSD - My OH's family are in Dartmouth - as soon as we heard this morning that the A38 was blocked we figured it had to be Telegraph Hill! When I first started going down there I had an elderly citroen that I always had to crawl to the top ending up in second gear! :rotfl:
Sybil - I saw the comment you're referring to - bearing in mind what you had previously said on the subject on that thread you must be able to see why people jumped to (in your opinion) the wrong conclusion about your DH? It does seem sometimes that on so many of the other boards people just don't care how cruel they are though. On that subject Maya - you've posted on here a couple of times now and on each occasion you have seemingly been astonished that people have taken issue with the way you have posted.....note that I don't say "with what you said" as I think it is more the way in which you post that upsets people. A little tact and diplomacy goes a long way - perhaps you come from a tradition of people who pride themselves on being "blunt" - but it may be worth bearing in mind that many people feel that "bluntness" is just another word for rudeness. Kindness costs nothing.
Nessie - glad you're getting back to normal. I'm still hopeful about the Calcutta Cup tickets - fingers crossed me may find out when we go to the rugby club tomorrow to watch the match. Come on England!!Glad your friends got their travel sorted out - what a nightmare!
Tru - yes, yet another one with a messy husband here - amazing the amount of rubbish they can spread about the place isn't it!
Not much OS today I'm afraid - did Mr T's on the way home from work - spent just over £18 but that included a couple of reduced price Naan breads, a big bag of caster sugar, a big lump of cheese and some crackers as well as the usual bits and pieces. I aim to do some cooking over the weekend - probably some savoury muffins, maybe some coleslaw, and possibly some form of cake.....We'll have pizza one night too. BM will go on overnight for bread for breakfast and WM probably on tonight too with a white load. Ideally I'd like to get to the bottom of the washing mountain over the weekend but.....!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
