Morning All
Unpacking done and a home found for most of what we brought out. Most of the dust bunnies now gone, though will be moving the furniture in the lounge today to get any lurking there. Overcast and cloudy today and forecast for the next couple of days too.
Had a throw together meal last night from freezer/storecupboard as want to wait for the market tomorrow for F&V. May nip to the chinese for a cheap special tonight.:o
Heard from my nephew yesterday that his wife's Mum had died, cancer, only around my age, so very sad as they are due their second baby at the end of March. I did know her, but not closely, and she was always nice and pleasant when we met.
Heard from DS he got to work almost an hour late but safely in darkest Gloucestershire, with the snow.
((((Big Hugs))))) to those feeling the cold, not feeling well, or would just like one. :grouphug:
Good Luck Halight, maybe you need to consider training as a care home worker if not lucky today, they are always in demand, low wages I know, but gets the sort of certificates which help towards your ideal job.
Take care

Hi
The one highlight of the day is my son is 21 today:)
The rest
Our drains backed up
Our son's heating packed up and my OH had to let the man in and think our heating is playing up as well
We have been given notice on our house to leave and the landlord is a stubborn g i t
The weather is hindering our househunting
I had a health scare and will be having a check up in 2-3 weeks
The interest rates are pathetic now
Hope everyone else is having a better time than we areAn average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for FRIDAY 6th Feb. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread that we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we have achieved already. Everyone is welcome so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well”, type start does just as well.
Morning. Bit of a slow start? It's colder than a witches tit here. 0c and a windchill of -12. So not very nice to go out in. Few wisps of snow too. nothing stickin.
Had some good fortune with the car yesterday. I was trying to get the ignition key thing sorted out for the OH car. Ford wanted almost £200 to cut 3 keys and re chip them to the cars immobiliser system. I stumbled in to Timpson the key and shoe people and the chap there cut a key by sight, removed the chip from the old key and put it in the new one £20 and it works fine. I can get a second key for £10. From being ripped off to being served well in one day. Very happy.
My car on the other hand is a worry. £400 for a cambelt service and that's the cheapest. Can't get Timpson to do that. Bummer. I might just buy a new car and trade it in, it's almost cheaper.
Bangers and mash for tea last night, and today is an 8 hour day with 4 days off afterwards. Fancy somthing nice to eat... Maybe a curry?
Have a nice day folksAn average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Internet connection hiccuping so I am posting while I can...
Little bear is his usual self. I broke a nail trying to wipe his nose, and he tried to wash his hands in the toilet bowl. And then I get the gorgeous smile and melt.
Of course, deep cleaning the toilet after every use has completely beggared my back.
And a valuer is coming on 23rd.
And dear heart is just too exhausted to do anything, poor lad.
It could all be down to how much evil cat gets done.
Hugs to all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
A quick good morning everyone!
I'm sorting out the benefits claim for dd's bf today - no doubt ages on the phone - as he's getting no money at the mo & we aren't getting any extra yet so it's making things a bit tight. It's worth it though to see him blossoming & coming out of himself more over the last couple of days.
I'm dealing with washing right now - all of yesterday's to take off the airers & put away & today's to sort out. It's very cold but breezy & sunny here so I've pegged the towels out to save a bit of room on the airers. Meatballs & spaghetti for tea (stretched out with lentils & extra chopped veg of course) and the remains of yesterdays spicy lentil soup for lunch.
Going to the library this afternoon with my dear friend we'll no doubt end up laughing about hubby's, life with teens/preteens & dogs so it'll be fun!
Huge hugs to all who need them & good luck with any job applications that are on the go right now.

Morning all,
It was minus 2 when I took DGS2 to school, they have closed early for last few days, need to get skids on and do a quick skip to Aldi and Lidl before the call comes, roads apart from major ones are icy and not pleasant to drive on.
Not sure what's for dinner to-night, have had a big porridge breakfast so not thinking that far yet...may have ham so that there will be some for DD4 over weekend....she goes mad when she thinks I am doing that deliberately, reminds me that at her age I had three small children so would I let her be an adult please!
Luca not the best these days, not eating as well as he did and staggering a bit when he gets up to walk...went out this morning after a very small breakfast, need to get him in before I head off although there are warm sheds he can get into.
Sky is clear and sun out here, allegedly we are not to have any more snow until Sunday...we'll see.
Halight good luck with interview
Have a good day all
